I think he was better (or at least more intentionally loose feeling on the less metally bits) on Australasia than on the mid-period stuff, too.

I used to hate them. Someone gifted me their debut album in 2006 and I thought it was mediocre, not to my taste. Then I started at this job that same year (still here) and someone was constantly playing it as part of the office mix, and it became so completely unbearable I wanted to stab my eardrums with pencils. I ignored their second album, but for some reason checked out their third (The Suburbs) and I really like it. I think they've toned down the crying quite a bit. I still haven't gone back to listen to their debut, not sure it would be a wise decision for me.

My next installation is that detestable lump of lard known as Adele. Why not just listen to one of her songs and leave it there? They're all the fucking same and she sounds like she's shouting through a depression trumpet at full volume.

Another being the Kooks. Holy shit I get enraged when I hear the following song. I picture their smug little faces dancing a jig while I die a slow death.

And Lemar. Another shitbag that I've had the horrible misfortune to experience while I was working in a workshop listening to the radio when it came out. They must have played it 4-5 times a day for a good two months ffs.
