ever wondered what people involved in porn do after they stop making porn? the long answer is that you need to watch this film. the short answer is that the problems begin.

it's got some nice anecdotes but it's really a bunch of talking heads telling you about their miserable lives

Looks good will check this out. Watched Louix Theroux's "Twilight of the Pornstars" recently, where he revisits some of people he interviewed back in an episode of his 1997 series Weird Weekends. Both episodes are (like the entire series) naturally great.

Also watched A Field In England last night. Absolutely brilliant from start to end. Hadn't seen Reece Shearsmith since The League Of Gentlemen days, he was really good in it though.

foods in the tone of 'go to the fuckin store'

patayda chips

apple cracker thangies

carrots in brown paper bag

As incredible as Shearsmith was in that scene from A Field In England this remains his finest moment.

"They're about guns, lasers, robots with laser guns in space. Monsters from the future. Explosions. Sylvester Stallone doing a backflip on top of a spike while Robocop carries a ghost up a mountain. Bombs and swords and that... IDM is awesome."

Really enjoyed The Conjuring. Hammer films wished they had released this.

Zaphod, you are usually funny but your Office Space rant was boring and without merit. Don't try so hard. Let the funny flow from your mind.

The Conjuring 7.5/10

Office Space 2: The Sojourning 3/10

just rewatched Drive, really nice!

which Refn film should I watch next, other than that viking film (seen it)?

Ooooh, don't watch Valhalla Rising. I was really excited for it but I was really disappointed. The opening scene is wonderful but the rest of it is one big borefest.

is why i'm asking... valhalla rising was mildly interesting, but yes also boring.

all film title/ poster combos of this guy look like they are strongly based on homoeroticism somehow,

I know this isn't a Movie News thread, but...

    Quote
Man of Steel director Zack Snyder just came out and rocked our worlds at Comic-Con. Not just announcing that Batman will be in the Superman sequel — which he did with a cool-looking metallic Superman-Batman logo that drove the crowd nuts. But that was not the biggest deal.

ku-xlarge.jpg

The biggest deal was, Snyder brought out Man of Steel actor Harry Lennix (General Swanwick) to use his cool voice to read the following piece of dialogue:

"I want you to remember, Clark…in all the years to come…in your most private moments…I want you to remember…my hand…at your throat…I want…you to remember…the one man who beat you."

Yup. Batman's speech from Dark Knight Returns. Snyder said the movie won't be an adaptation of this film... but it will be inspired by it. The crowd lost their shit.

I thought Man of Steel was a very half arsed high budget, appallingly edited mish mash and I can't believe they are letting Snyder loose again on this one! I enjoyed Watchmen and 300 but he had it easy adapting almost exactly from a comic book for the screenplays however Man of Steel felt more like Sucker Punch.

This will be disposable tosh.

Trance - 5/10. Full of holes, including a completely unnecessary bald one, and incoherent characters.

Awful

Only God Forgives - 2/10 Laugh out loud hilarious. Best use of the term "cute little cum dumpster".

Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox - 8/10 Definitely the best JL movie that's ever going to happen.

Spring Breakers - 7/10 Terrence Malick meets Skrillex.

These animated films by René Laloux are brilliant. Never seen anything like it, but I can't really find anything similar.
