Rubin Farr
Saving Mr Banks - 8/10 well done drama / biopic on the film adaptation of Mary Poppins. Hanks wasn't in it nearly enough, and Colin Farrell waay too much. a little melodramatic at times, but childhood trauma can come off that way. basically a love letter to Disney & Travers and the impact they had on children in the 20th Century. Squee
Nymphomaniac - 7/10 Didn't live up to the hype. Hell, the sex scenes weren't even all that explicit. It was okay. It's hard to put into words what to think about this movie, but I was hoping for a more interesting story and it didn't need to be 4 fucking hours long. gaarg
I saw Hobbit 2 again. Oh boy, the novelty of the 48 fps and 3d finally wore off and left me a bit bored by the first third of the film. Analysing our civilization through this product kept me mildly entertained until the end. I'll give it 2/10 for entertainment value, it's on the scale where jigsaw puzzles all get over 6. Nebraska
well, this was a feast. greenaway (literally) ticks an entire checklist of things that will guarantee he continues NEVER to be distributed in the english speaking world. he's toned down his multi-screen thing in favor of a more "straight" storytelling avenue: somewhere along macon and nightwatching- but there's still plenty of nudity (full frontal and ample buttocks in yo face) and mention of pricks to shake a stick at for a super stylized porno bible orgy. I'm curious how he's pulled that part off. In anti-christ all the explicit scenes were done with body doubles Yeah, you see actual penetration. It was all done with stunt doubles which has then been composited together with the original footage, and I guess all the blowjobs were done with prosthetics. It's weird, though, because I went in expecting some really hardcore stuff, but it wasn't even the images of dicks going into vajayjays that were stuck in my head when I left the theatre. Lars Von Trier and his producers really did everything they could to make it sound as if that this movie was going to be pure porn. The movie is just a bad excuse to be provocative. Guest zaphod
lone survivor dled a screener copy. this is a fairly disturbing feature length recruitment video for the us military. it ends with a completely fabricated attack on an afghan village where pashtun guys are willing to die for the american soldier. the whole story is embellished to grand effect; i believe the official number of men attacking luttrell and company was around ten. in the film it's a small army, close to a hundred. complete nonsense, wouldn't be surprised if this was directly funded by the marines. 1/10 Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/75962-films-recently-watched/page/183/#findComment-2111520 Share on other sites

Watched it on Tivo later in the week. Threw my Tivo box into the sea when the tide was out. The East - 7/10 Lets get this straight this is a vast improvement on this hipsters 'Sound Of My Voice' which is my most hated film of 2012 and indeed the decade, 7/10 for improvement in narrartive and structure. bUt also for makin sure the hipsters bike had gears and brakes on this bike as he rode through forest....(deep breath) :D American Hustle - 8.5/10 It's all about that opening scene. Bale gettin his hair right only for Coopers FBI agent to mess it up. The story is as tangled as the methods Bale uses to perfect his barnet. Love it. Inland Empire - 9.6/10 Where do i begin?
