Enders game. 5/10

I enjoyed the first half. When they were in boot camp. Second half was shit saw the twist with the game miles off. And the ending blew.

Lego movie was a lot of fun, lot more thought-out than I expected in the story. I like that despite the ability for perfect, impressive visuals they kept a lot of silliness and playfulness in the animation.

Her 8/10 i liked it and though it was a very gentle and touching film with lovely cinematography. however it was a bit too gentle and lacked drama,

Small Apartments 8/10 i'd never heard of this film and never would have if i hadn't randomly stumbled across it. i think it's a gem, highly recommended.

The Selfish Giant 9/10

this film was absolutely amazing, great performances from all the cast, gripping storyline and beautiful cinematography. however before you rush out and watch it i must warn you that there is a scene which will leave you feeling like your heart has been ripped out through your chest. you will weep.

I forgot I saw Bad Grandpa last weekend. Probably says a lot more than an actual review that. Actually I laighed, but not the entire time and probably not enough, but a couple belly laughs in there

yes that was filmmaking at an astonishingly high level wasn't it.

this dude billy hayes trying to smuggle hash out of turkey. bad move dude- so he gets life imprisonment. the real story is "sorta" like that and papillon but this was written by oliver stone so it's angrier and overly explicit. fucking amazing soundtrack

a very 80s film starring a bunch of lunkheads called maverick, goose, iceman, slider and cougar all bitching about who's number one. lots of bro moments as well as a couple of awkward "you're trying too hard sequences" and kelly mcgillis playing a "dangerous game" with the "crazy" maverick.

btw: i feel like i just watched a gay porn

It's funny the male and female stars both turned out to be gay.

inside llewyn davis: i can't figure out what that was about. i'm clueless. why did it get so much praise?

yeah it felt really weird when it didnt get a mention at the oscars, easily as good as dallas buyers club etc

Finally got to see this. so good. feel like I could watch it on repeat and enjoy 10 times in a row. There were moments I thought could be funnier but overall enjoyed.

i don't even see those two as comparable. dallas buyers club is typical oscar jerker, llewyn davis is something much more artful that oscar people don't know how to digest properly most of the time.

The Wolf of Wall Street 8/10 very good but jonah outshines leo in this for me

the photography is nice - check. wouldn't expect less from the coen bros

john goodman plays in it - check. anything with john goodman is worth watching, just for him.

the chicago trip scene is nice - check. ok, that was a cool, in a wtf am i watching way, scene.

for the rest, i'm clueless. what's supposed to be interesting about that film?

It's just refreshing in it's depressive edge - exploring the life of an artist, and in the grand scheme of things - the theme of what it is to exist.

not a film for intimidate satisfaction, but a grower, a thinker and a re-watcher...can't say i was 'blown away' when i saw it first, but since then it's been in my thoughts and am eagerly awaiting a re-watch whenever it comes around

also some people like the music.

It's one of the best films of the year and a joke that it wasn't up for oscar glory. Too subtle for the academy. The key theme in the film is artistic integrity so perhaps good that its a sleeper. Definitely worth a many viewing...especially that bit at the end where Llewyen catches a glimpse of the act onstage after him.....
