The same director (Panos Cosmatos) did an episode of Cabinet of Curiosities that was lush as fuk. I posted about it a while ago, probably in the TV thread.

I haven't watch any horror movies in years until now, Latest before that was "Heradetery" or something like that! 🙂

You guys have more recommendations?

Honestly SINISTER is the most scary movie I ever seen with a really creepy feeling and atmosphere going on all the time and doesn't rely on cheap jump scares!
If you know any movie like this than hit me up!

The Witch (The VVitch) 2015. I thought this was very good. Creepy and sinister. Not everyone's cup of tea though.

checked out Killers of the Flower Moon , really went in blind - my mom had read the book and we went to see the film together (I expected an indie flick, not Scorsese/DiCaprio/deniro etc) and my hot take is that America sucks and I feel fairly sure the Osage murders were far worse than recorded history can portray. and a+ for the accurate(ish) Lucky Strikes Presidential FBI whodunnit radio show

-1 star for DiCaprio's mush mouth

GHOST: have you killed Claudius yet
HAMLET: no
GHOST: why
HAMLET: fuck you is why

That OPN score didn't hurt either!

I've been wanting to see it but did not want to commit to a four hour film. How did you find the pacing and run time?

I saw a screening of Godfrey Reggio's (Qatsi Trilogy fame) latest Once Within a Time at local film festival yesterday. Almost 70% of the audience walked out, but the rest who stayed ('cluding myself and the wife) gave it a standing ovation. Defo up there for Most IDM 2023 for me.

Watched Fireball (Herzog). Strong 7/10. Very interesting subject. Oppenhiemer was a bit weak on screen. I see Apple have plenty other Herzog I can rewatch at a reasonable price so happy about that.

I saw this film in a theater, no intermission. It's a very good movie and I want to see it again, but being forced to sit for that amount of time is a big ask.

Wonderfully shot film but it might be a better experience seeing this at home tbh

Edit: Wanted to add, it is 3 hours and 26 min with about 10 min of credits

Tried to watch the killer and it just bored the shit out of me. When it got to the comically bad fight scene in the house with the dog I completely checked out. Also it had some of the worst internal monologues I’ve ever heard. Good acting and everything and I’m not saying it’s absolute tripe but it kinda fucking is in that it’s painfully average and telegraphed in the worst way possible.

RRR

never watched a full-blown Bollywood movie like this before and holy shit, what an introduction to the genre. I can’t think of the last time anything had me cheesing like this. This is the triple-distilled, highest concentration Bro film I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s a miracle these guys weren’t pounding each other in the ass at multiple points throughout the film in 5000 FPS slow motion sequences. Just incredibly over-the-top, hyper violent with a very strangely naïve and innocent charm to it. It really felt like a 3rd grader wrote a fucking saga and acted it out with action figures before some bollywood execs who wound up greenlighting it. They went all-in and I respect the shit out of them for it. The CGI was better than anticipated, I love the way a lot of the shots were framed, the sets all looked cool as hell and it just had this weird, vibrant, phantasmagoric quality to its world. The acting, story, and somehow the pacing was great (3 hrs and I was engaged the whole damn time) but it was the dancing and singing sequences being fucking fire which was the strangest thing to come to grips with personally 😅.  So happy someone recommended this shit to me. Most entertaining film I’ve seen in quite some time.

Midsommar

Wholy crap what a movie, kinda brilliant to do a cult movie like that and twisted. But not everything made me totally satisfied

Yeah the ending is brilliant.

Also Apostle is worth watching. Mr Cern.

Omg Thank u so much! That was very nice of u! 💯

I had nightmares after Midsommar even if I didn't think it was scary at all!

That means It sure had some psychological impacts. There is also horror we don't speak about but Sexual Horror.
Think about being drug and forced to have sex with some totally stranger and people cheers in the background singing. I would feel so sick!

I think it is a Masterpiece!

Oppenheimer, second time, still boring. The trinity test was lack luster.  Could have been done better. The whole film lacked something

im enjoying older films, 50’s, 60’s . The hustler was great. I watched it the night  Piper Laurie was dying, strange coincidence. Also watching twilight zone, and outer limits, both wonderful.
