the hobbit - urgh !! that fucking music again. Peter just doesn't get some things does he. Arr well, like ppl have said, plenty CG porn. Also, i hate that lead actor, it pissed me off when they cast him, as he has no charisma, his acting is like they found a lump of wood and wittled it down into something that resembles a smaller lump of wood. It's wooden, and he sucks. And then on colbert he got ancy when it looked like colbert wasn't listening to what he was saying. So he's perhaps a primadona into the bargain.

Anyway. such is knife.

it's a bit long and drawn out. the emotional scenes were a bit repetitive and redundant by the end. but..

i actually kind of enjoyed it:) it's like a fun, japanese A leaning on B-grade space sci fi battleship movie. watch with a few friends and a few drinks, have a giggle at lesser quality bits. and it's not all that bad.

maybe having high expectations will let this film down. but i had pretty average expectations and thought it was pretty well done.

next on the list will be a couple of animes posted in that recent anime recommendations thread:)

that's actually superb acting by Liam Neeson

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

darjeeling limited is the only good film Lesbian Anderson has done apart from groundhog evening...

honestly, the only time his "cooku" style has actually been style, granted it was showing his twatty "oh i have daddy problems" against the backdrop of real problems that could have been done better, hopefully he goes back to India to redit... i mean redeem himself again/....

Darjeeling is clearly a low point in the history of cinema, along with Where The Wild Things are, Spike Jonze's abortion.

Where The Wild Things Are might be the biggest disappointment in movie history for me. that movie is depressing

And not even in an intentional way. It's like a dweeby high school twat tried to make an art house film with shallow symbolism as the main storyline. The only thing happening in the narrative is that the monsters are the kid's character flaws. Obviously that little idea goes nowhere, so just fill up the running time with lots of awkward pauses and horribly face-palm inducing "drama". Maybe the cinematography will be enough to recommend it? Nah, not even if it was 25 minutes. Fuck that movie. It makes 90 minutes feel like 3 hours.

hahaha

yeah it was awful, but actually all spike jonez films are. They are all shot at sundown and are depressing as fuck. Most people didn't notice it with Malkovitch as the idea was kinda cool.

ah yeah...that was better. Can't remember if I actually liked it though. I know it's a fan favorite and "Nic Cage proves he can act" favorite.

The Rock great b movie with stupid 90's pushy overbearing soundtrack. everyone should rewatch this movie once in awhile 7 laughs out of 10 actions

The Hurt Locker about the script I kept thinking "say it don't spray it" this movie has extreme dynamics of great scenes vs dumb scenes 5 Bigelows out of 10 Renners

Oz: The Great and Powerful - 2/10

lol

I hate when Hollywood tarnishes antiquated classics like that. They never seem to care what their audiences think, only box office numbers.

Beyond the Black Rainbow is one of the nicest looking films I've ever seen. There are some great moments, but I wish some of the ideas had been further explored. Was disappointing. Will check out Altered States

Night on the Galactic Railroad -

saw this posted on the anime thread. was having a bummy day at home. of all the potential films me and housemate could watch, we decided to go with the recently downloaded one that looked like a ghibli style 'fun' anime with cats on the cover.

took me a while to get into it, but about half way through i was realising just how serious toned the film actually was. it's slow paced. beautiful. often, the scenes were too cryptic for me figure out what was going on.

but overall, i was blown away by this film. the ending was beautiful. tempted to give it a 10/10, simply because it was lovely and i feel it did a pretty good job at being exactly what it wants to be (mind you, have not read the book).

Outland -

horrible. boring. moved mouse towards the end and there was 8 minutes to go, including the credits. had to think for a moment if i wanted to stop or not. seriously, boring.
