the nuclear thing is somewhat unnerving, and Ill admit i never considered that.....but in the wake of the Fukushima problem, wouldn't it be reasonable to expect massive reforms/checkups on US nuclear facilities in case of disasters just like this?

...i think i just answered my own question...

US nuclear disaster, east coast turns Republican after NYC explodes and Vermont covered in radiation, nuclear energy is banned except for military use and we up reliance on coal and fossil fuels even more, promoting drilling in Yellowstone, which will likely finally set off the supervolcano.

you are always going to have these idiots....the hurricane last year made it worse, when the kids at the Virginia Beach site were running around when the newscaster in front of them was barely able to stand up due to "high winds and massive hurricane SURGE"

my friend during that time was apparently waterskiing in Baltimore Harbor until the marine patrol ordered him on land...what a fucking idiot....he called me back probably expecting to sound all hard, but me and a few others basically proceeded to call him 40 different types of jackass for 10 minutes.

its still ok really..i usually judge the impact on whether i have power or not....just filled up the bathtub with water for flushing just in case...apparently a couple of counties have voluntary evacuations, but much of the western shore has an "off the road" order for the next 20 hours or so.

Overall, where im at its just a lot of drizzle and occasional high gusts. Id take a picture but it would be incredibly boring compared to the NYC ones.

edit; I think its expected to hit full fury down here in a few hours when the main arm turns down our way.

nothing that bad up here in morningside heights, just spooky wind and some drizzles. Just went down to riverside park to check on the mighty Hudson. Still lookin pretty chill, probably in a couple hours it will be worse. The fact that it's LOW tide now is frightening. I really want class to be cancelled tomorrow
