Расчленённая ПугачОва aka academy maniacs (artem anoufriev and nikita lytkin) used to run this channel where they posted music videos to their own noise/grindcore experiments. a year after posting their last video, they began a murder spree that claimed 6 victims (1 child, 3 drunks and 2 homeless people).

Yeah, will listen to a few for sure.  Plenty of Merzbow I have never heard, so a good opportunity to dive into some of the rarer stuff and hear some critique on it.

Posted this on the industrial thread and thought to ask here too if anyone knows noise similar to this:

So stuff right in the fine border of industrial and noise. Have tried some artists - many of them mentioned also on this thread - but most of the noise stuff is too, eh, high pitched and make my ears bleed. So I guess I'm more looking for stuff with little smoother edges. Kinda gives me the same feeling like some ambient; instead of listening to samples of calming sound of a waterfall I get a screeching sound of pouring stream of scrap.

One finnish record seller who is a serious noise veteran (Grunt, Clinic Of Torture) has a section in his shop called "hipster noise", maybe that's the exact genre I'm after here.

80's Merzbow

Skullflower

any James Ferraro release with a photocopied greyscale cover

:cisfor:

I remember trying Merzbow and it fell pretty much into no no category. Same for other legends such as Genocide Organ, Anenzaphalia or BDN. Although don't have any clue if the Merzbow stuff I listened was indeed 80's stuff or his chicken releases or whatever so will give it another go. Have heard Skullflower mentioned but never checked it. Thanks! btw lol for the photocopies. Important aspect of any self respecting ug release with any credibility. Bonus points for pics of anything mutilated.

Big thanks. For some reason I really can't get fully into other/later orphx. But the comp I posted is really something. Extra thanks for providing bandcamp releases! Dunno if I really need to know some tape editions from early 90's limited to 4 copies.

Any Lust Vessel collectors? All their releases including the ones from their harsher sublabel Stiff Sanctorum are some of the best tapes I own.

Stoked to watch OA II. The movement thing never bothered me, anyone familiar with Druidic studies will recognize the importance of movement to get to higher planes.

Found the latest episode quite interesting, it was a guy from Editions Mego talking about a Japanese tour in 1999 with Russell Haswell. Not sure I need to own it on tape though!

Unread replies

A real shame for those guys how Merzbow has behaved toward them. They are clearly gutted. I'm glad they are continuing the podcast with a broader noise outlook however.
