On the Merzbow tip, I just bought Takahe Collage for my lady (She's just got into the 'bow and wanted her own album) and it absolutely fucking slays!

I haven't enjoyed a merzbow album this much in years.

Sweet, gotta hear that. I agree with the general consensus that most of his releases this last decade pale in comparison to the stuff he was doing in the late 80's and 90's, but I love the direction his album art has taken.

Cock Combat's one of the most satisfying noise percussion freak outs ever.

Hey man, totally getting around to it but, long story short, my girlfriend tripped over a wire and yanked my speakers to the ground from a great height. Now they sound like shit so will be opening the sub tomorrow to see if I can glue the magnet back in place and get them werkin' again.

I then tried to download the studio version on bandcamp on my new smartphone to listen to via headphones and found out apple won't let you do that so several fails are going on right now

I will say that I enjoyed Cthulu Detonator muchly and looked forward to hearing/viewing this when my speakers are glued back together.

i don't they have been in the thread yet. If you're looking for the real noisy gritty raw throbbing gristle stuff you'd have to go pretty far back before the re-union when they went Abelton Live-core. the 24 hours of Throbbing Gristle live boxset is a good place to start.

they did a performance in the netherlands in the late 80s where they sat with their backs to the audience watching blank static on an analog television set. doesn't get more intense than that imo

Been experimenting with noise for a bit now - I have a new EP coming out later today - I'll link it up once it's uploaded.

I'm just beginning, but I think this is miles better than my previous noise release.

Either way, it was super fun to make.

I actually scared myself on one of the tracks due to the sheer audible horror that I had created.

It's like... a ghost giving birth through a broken loudspeaker.. digitally sped up

Bit of a mix of harsh noise, drone/ambient and pure sample-fuckery.

i was being sarcastic in my post, but I love the Haters. I loved them so much we did an impromptu renegade pre Haters performance called 'I hate the haters' in '98 where my friend went out with an eye patch on and talked about how the Haters rely on concept alone and keep repeating the same idea over and over again (this was meant as a roast of sorts, we were pretty big fans). GX Jupiter Larson is one of the most down to earth approachable noise heroes I know. I don't really count him as one of those unpredictable 'extreme' acting slobby dudes who has the potential or scaring you during a performance. There was this very intense vibe permeating it's way through the noise scene here in California from about 1995-2000 where people like Death Squad were pulling loaded guns on audience members after shooting syringes full of heroin on stage, or guys who would wear shards of broken bottles and sheet metal on themselves like chain-mail who would just stage dive straight into innocent bystanders. I think Francisco Lopez is one of the main guys from that era who sort of transcended it and went off to do things less relying on that hardcore image. I remember picking up one his CDs from i think 99 that was just filled with some of the most extreme real-life gore imagery I had ever seen. Now he seems to be more respected in a serious manner by the Wire and other outlets.

i make an early appearance in here as my old handle, I think I was probably 17 when i posted some of stuff, but i was still proud to get under his skin because i found it absolutely stupid and uninspiring what he did to try and get attention.
