Every one in the Schimpfluch collective is doing interesting stuff. G*Park in particular has grabbed my attention. Highly recommend his album Seismogramm for anyone interested in field recordings and concrete sounds.

i don't they have been in the thread yet. If you're looking for the real noisy gritty raw throbbing gristle stuff you'd have to go pretty far back before the re-union when they went Abelton Live-core. the 24 hours of Throbbing Gristle live boxset is a good place to start.

 

i dont know that new x-tg album was pretty noisy

its definitely noisy, but i wouldn't classify it as noise like some of their older stuff, which has a much more unhinged abrasive and raw feel to it.

This is a great EP. I was pleased to see it released with the last Prurient LP which shares a few similiar overtones to Lewis, albeit being less noisy.

let's talk specific flavors of noise.

Can somebody recommend similar noise albums to the late 90s era of power electronics noise similar to Merzbow's Pulse Demon or pretty much anything from Pain Jerk's catalog from the same time? John Wiese and Painjerk did a collaboration album a few years ago that basically just sounds like a really cleaned up fleshed out Painjerk album.
With all the noise out there it's difficult to sift through it all to find more stuff with this specific sound. Sharp bursts of white-noise through wah peddles, lots of distorted loops, high pitched synth twiddling on top and just in your face assault the entire time. I find this type of noise music very therapeutic, it relaxes me.

nice, I've heard all of these except for the gerogerigege one. They are all decent noise albums, but I don't think any of them besides maybe Venerology really are in the same style as the albums I listed. For about a year I would listen to Rectal Anarchy almost daily. That album is absolutely top notch

I've been enjoying Yellow Swans a lot lately, pretty atmospheric noise, I've fallen asleep to this stuff a few nights lately

also downloaded and have been enjoying Merzbow's "Merzbeat" album, and recently purchased the Boris & Merzbow collab "Sun Baked Snow Cave" which is truly fantastic!

I'm still not quite warmed up to appreciating harsh noise per se (I can listen in small doses here and there), but at this point I can definitely say I enjoy more ambient/atmospheric noise as well as more rhythmic noise too. Any recommendations along that line would be well appreciated.
