its daft punk's fault for writing a boring ass song. it's a 4 bar loop over and fucking over. they're the ones who decided "fuck it lets just put some lyrics on top of the loop it will work"

So while the track is slowly growing on me this is mostly how I feel.

Daft Punk are great songwriters sometimes - I think personally that's why Discovery is my favorite album - "Digital Love" for example is a huge leap forward from their older pure house-oriented hits. Another great downtempo song of theirs is this one:

Again, I stress that this one has a clear aim and it changes enough to stay engaging.

They know how to use and maximize the beauty of a loop, but it usually only works if it's a fucking bangin' track. This isn't that, it's smooth as hell, has a nice groove and yes it's catchy but it just lacks an "oomph" and unlike their other more low-key songs it doesn't go anywhere. The belated solo towards the end doesn't save it either. This is a 4-bar loop and some stupid lyrics but it works. When it comes to loops, side-chaining and filtering do wonders; slap bass and smooth lyrics about getting laid don't.

Also, Human After All is an album I listen to in a regular (~ bi-monthly) basis; I can understand the hate it gets, but I find as enjoyable as any other Daft Punk release

As much as I'm not into Kanye's bravado, his videos are always good looking and sometimes outright experimental, like the one with broken gif technique all over it or Enter the Void's flash typography copied, or when he invited Romain Gavras, who is famous for Born Free and Stress music videos (the best out there in last years). So it might be interesting new one with all the resources.
