stupid first world achievements and successes

I think I already mentioned that I was facing redundancy at work (yet again), but it seems that as well as having to re-apply for my current role, it looks like I'm being encouraged to apply for a more managerial role that could be on the table; due to circumstances like some folks potentially leaving as a result of voluntary redundancy, and the general thinking of 'hey, why not give it a go while everything is up in the air?' I have a month to prepare for potentially two interviews. Fingers crossed this one concludes over in the first world achievements and successes thread.

I made a little Zork-like text adventure game recently. Felt good to get something done in Python. Now moving on to graphical interfaces.

holy shit thats awesome congrats!!! I knew a guy that was in charge of PR I think there? and he was one of the coolest eccentric characters Ive ever had the pleasure to meet. I think youll have a blast, if not learn a lot from the opportunity.

You have successfully achieved my childhood dream of working for NASA, I at least have massive respect for you on that tip!!!

Im paralleling this post with my post in the first world problems thread, but Im ALMOST done the neverending flood of paperwork and will soon be teaching and reading cool books again! Huzzah!

I'm still slightly angry that I got rejected from a position at NASA JPL even though it was this massive project administrator position that I was absolutely unqualified for. Because NASA.

Also my girlfriend is still crying about Futurama, too.

about the episode on Wednesday? or that its the final season...again. cause man, that last episode was very sad. probably the saddest moment of the show. like that episode when fry thinks his brother took his life but it was really his nephew.

It was the episode, although surely emotions are running high in general.

The dog was played for lols in this one, but the earlier episode about the dog still makes me choke up a bit. Dogs, man. Dogs. Man.

I get paid to program a robot. Working with a robot is also the cause for many many fwp though...

I've managed to make my ex think I've changed my number. Hopefully I will never hear from him again.

the lab I was an intern at over the summer just asked me if I want to work as an hourly employee for them in the fall, and here I thought I had botched up this past quarter pretty hard. makes me quite happy.

also, congrats frankie! I think that's the same program I was going to apply for earlier this year, but my laziness got the better of me (and I'm not a very good engineer anyway) -- you will have a great time and that's a kickass opportunity!
