i'm scheduled to get the keys from the next batch that kraft music gets in... (they were really nice about the delay and even called one day to discuss the situation before billing me)

Definitely worth the wait. I think I waited 4 months.

The keys does a nasty acid bass, suprisingly. I'll try to post an example soon.

The keys has a very small range where it sounds good for acid bass

and distortion definitely helps

interesting that whatever filter+oscillator combo korg uses in all their new stuff sounds so distinctive, it's instantly recognizable.

Allegedly the Monotribes have the MS-20 filter and the Volcas have the MiniKorg 700s filter.

(Albeit with stripped-down functionality in both cases)

decided to give a local music shop a ring and ask if they by some chance had any of the Volcas - to my luck, they had 1 left, the keys, which is exactly the one myself and my mate we're going to buy

Ended up 'buying' the Beats as well, but it won't arrive till tomorrow...hopefully - shall let ya's know how they are

the moral of the story - try any local music shops, the lad at this particular shop was explaining to me Korg's way of distribution, it's quite silly and they don't take any preference other than if you have a good credit rating - so if you still havn't received your online orders, perhaps try some local places...ya never know!

(the keys is sounding lovely so far - and gives extremely crisp BIG sounds, but also delicate soft sounds)

I'm going to just assume that Korg just feels the need to give Canada and Australia the D in the A for whatever reason. I've been told end of October now.

also! What's the craic with the sync cable tethering? I had a quick bash at sync'ing the Keys to my Monotribe - whichever had the sync out cable was able to control tempo on both machines - HOWEVER, I couldn't manage to get any 'send' controls to work, i.e. when I hit play on the monotribe the sequence doesn't start on the Keys...is this just how it is, or am i missing something?

just managed to pickup a volca beats!

should get it in the next day or 2.... i think theres one left in stock if anyone wants the link

i've recorded a couple of jams with the montribe and keys so i'll try to post something later... (nice volca acid LimpyLoo!)

i think thats how it is with the sync, you'll need to hit play on both

i'm using diy trigger outs from my tr505 to sync which works differently

i can hit play on my monotribe and volca and they don't start until i hit play on the 505

Just picked up my Beats today, so far they sound ta-sty! Didn't think the bass drum could sound so smooth and low.

keys came today... instant fun =]

yeah, i was pleasantly surprised too, this box really is a lot of fun. i've just been goofing off with it but it's still pretty satisfying

got the beats, so far its pretty great too! only thing that i would like to see now would be some way of sequencing/triggering pattern changes - midi program change? cant wait to see what mods people find on these.... cheap analog acid bangers ftw

im off on holiday for a couple of weeks, driving to southern ireland, taking a battery portable setup... peace and quiet and acid!
