Somebody with a hard copy of Classics, please clear this up for me.

I'm irked that musicbrainz picard is mis-tagging my files, that the database is (in my opinion) wrong on both musicbrainz and discogs.

The front cover of the album says "The Aphex Twin Classics," so it's been sorted with Richard credited as "The Aphex Twin," which basically makes that the artist name if you're ever using a tagger that relies on musicbrainz or discogs.

I would argue that the cover is meant to be read as a sentence, but that crediting him as "The Aphex Twin" would be no more valid than crediting an anthology called "The Definitive Bob Dylan Anthology" to "The Definitive Bob Dylan." It doesn't matter what the cover says, that's just not his name.

Anyway, if any of you have a copy with a tracklist, please let me know what it says. This is really grinding my gears.

I don't know what information you'd need that can't be derived from images of the album.

I think you should just write in whatever you want.

Why would you think it should be read as one sentence?

On the front is has different typing/ spacing/color and even the background implies it to be different "sentences", seeing the yellow "tennisballs" behind "classics". Looks like a stretch to interpret it as being one sentence.

On the back it's also on two lines, even if it could have been on one. Similar to all the individual tracks under it.

Why on earth would you come to the one sentence conclusion?

I was looking at the 2008 remaster.

guess I'll just have to figure out a way to make it immune to my tagger, because it's really annoying to have it show up in a completely different place in my library.

even on the original cover i think that's really what it is, but whatever.

Richard used "The" as part of his alias for those early releases, and as far as I'm concerned, can be considered a valid alias of his.
