The contrast between a highly energetic gig and a boc track is mesmerizing. Why on earth would that track be played at such an event?

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

Why not?

 

 

Because of the energy of the crowd. You'd like to have some form of energy at such an event, right? Instead of little to no energy? Please consider that not everyone is a boc fan and will have their energy levels automatically in overdrive whenever they hear a new boc-track. The average person I'd expect at such an event (no idea really)...would he be energised in any sense? It's like drinking a beer where the bubbles went on vacation.

It's not like that's the only stage at the festival and not every one of them must play banging techno all the time. And without knowing what tracks was played before and after it's hard to say how the energy level of the set was.

Listen to the Vangelis clip for a few minutes starting at even 8 minutes onward. Then, listen to the Movement clip. I'm now certain.

would be hilarious if the reason BoC are so slow in releasing albums is they are the biggest plagiarists in IDM. They do seem to lift "generously", Aquarius being the prime example. I remember there was quite a debate about Macquarie Ridge sounding so similar to that Basinski track (I personally thought it was unsettling close, others disagreed).
