Listen to the Vangelis clip for a few minutes starting at even 8 minutes onward. Then, listen to the Movement clip. I'm now certain.

What is this Vangelis clip you speak of? Link?

reposted it for you, just from page 2. I'm in bed half asleep on my phone it was just easier. go back a couple posts. gnite.

Thanks! Yeah I was obviously blind not to see that.

holy fuck tho

My favorite of the unreleased live tracks. It would be perfect for the apparent theme of the new album. Alas, no tracks that long are on it.

Um.. the similarities here, at about 9 minutes in. Holy SHIT. It's not just Happy Cycling. It's this new clip at Movement as well.

Right from the start here:

u got quite an ear for this, believe you're right

I don't hear it at all.. they are similar flutes but it doesn't sound sampled to me in the slightest. *shrugs*

Awesome find! I have this album cassette and I hadn't played it yet, look forward to now.

On the Happy Cycling sample part it also explains that very low vocal you can hear on that track, they must of EQ'd it just for the bird sample.

Yep. They sure do like that Vangelis track. And they did EQ out most of the chanting on Happy Cycling, but you do hear it if you listen carefully.

had a couple of listens to cold earth now...man, this is amazing stuff! if this was on one of the live set recordings(atp/warp10.etc) it would be right up there imo

I think one way or another we're gonna hear this track in high quality in the next few hours. It's already incredible! Can't wait

I don't understand you guys who say "it doesn't sound sampled to me". In one interview BoC said that, for most of the parts that seem sampled, they don't sample but rather re-create. So it could be they re-created this riff on their own.

(although it must be said, they probably started saying this to avoid litigation over Aquarius or something)

After this I listened to geogaddi and I didn't like it, I was quite vomitting at some tracks, I realized they were too crazy for my ears, they took too much acid to play music I stupidly thought (cliché of psyché music) But I knew this album was a kind of big forest where I just wasn't able to go inside.

I was in US tjis summer, and eat in KFC. FUCK That's the worst thing i've ever eaten. The flesh simply doesn't cleave to the bones. Battery ferming. And then, foie gras is banned from NY state, because it's considered as ill-treat. IT'S NOT. KFC is tourist ill-treat. YOU POISONERS! Two hours after being to KFC, i stopped in a amsih little town barf all that KFC shit out. Nice work!

So i hope this woman is not like kfc chicken, otherwise she'll be pulled to pieces.

yeah, it's not too far a stretch to suggest that one of them can play flute a bit.

You're on the right track. The amount of sampling they've done has probably decreased, Campfire for instance seemed a lot more of sample re-creation, whereas MHTRTC imo is substantially sample based, more akin to Entroducing or Since I Left You in the sheer amount of samples used and manipulated (and the gritty use of old Akai samplers), though BoC has always recorded synth leads and other elements themselves.

I think they really incorporate a range of techniques, even when it as appeared that they've sampled large chunks of music it's still always so manipulated that I personally I think it's irrelevant. They blend everything in together so well.
