Yes, they like him cause he's marketed as good looking and when he was younger had some chooky appeal. His face has since deformed, i agree. He must have a good agent, or fked someone really powerful.

If anything, I rate his voice far higher than his looks... it will be interesting how well he pulls off Smough in the next Hobbit movie this December.

I did like him a lot in Sherlock, and he made a good villain in Star Trek - rumour also has it he's up for JJ Abram's Star Wars movie as well.

He is in everything these days. Cashing in while he can.
