ARTURIA MICROBRUTE

Recommended Posts

Well it's certainly not an immediately warm/lush synth, you kinda have to work it a bit to get the really pretty tones. I like how it can get super abrasive.

I also don't own a moog, juno or kitten and probably won't in the foreseeable future, and considering it's about a quarter of the price of any of those (at least) I'm pretty happy about how it sounds! Then again I don't completely ejaculate over analog tones so maybe I'm the wrong person to give an opinion, hah.

Oh yeah, also it's probably the smallest analog synth with an actual keyboard that is on the market, which is a big plus for me because I don't have a car. It's really great for taking to gigs in a laptop bag/suitcase!

After reading this thread I decided to get my first analog synth which is Microbrute. After dealing with lots of virtual machines I really enjoying microbrute so far. With all the settings and size, it's really great. It has nicely written manual, which explains all the capabilities of Microbrute and some theory behind synthesis. After playing around with it I was able to get lots of decent sounds, mostly I like bassy stuff this thing can make. Really warm and strong bass sound.

I just posted stuff I made with it, enjoy :)

So that was probably the biggest impulse buy I've done in a while. Probably should have sought the advice of the fine folks here at watmm but I just went for it.

Shitty music is imminent.

It's a fun synth. You won't regret it! I still use mine regularly.

Good to hear. This is my first synth ever and I'm definitely lost in the sauce at the moment. Still though, having some serious fun here learning the ropes.

I need to fix mine, I'm starting to miss it. It's a really fun synth. It's makes me wish I had time to hole up with like a sampler and a kaoss pad and crank out lopsided synth beats.

There's one of these up on Gumtree round my way for £125, very tempted to give it a good home
