This is permanent - the thought behind this is people who are willing to pay are hopefully less willing to be abusive and cause problems, and it supports the continued running of the forum and potential expansion.

An entrance fee is not a terrible idea for a big forum. That's apparently how SomethingAwful keeps things reasonably nice. 3 bucks isn't too much anyway.

Since 1 August of this year, if I remember correctly - it started out as an experiment to see if people are willing to pay to use the site, and so far, it appears to be the case (new member signups haven't decreased noticeably).

Neat. I don't see a problem charging a little fee on a forum that is fairly active and offers a lot of stuff, such as downloads. And this recent Autechre appearance.

Guys, I remember some of you were mentioning months or years ago a database of autechre's live sets to download here on WATMM? Is it correct and is it still going? If so, where to find it? Thank you.

I'm going to get the Downloads module up and running again since we now have the storage space needed for the downloads to be hosted by WATMM rather than Chaosmachine's generosity.
