Nah I think they just don't know how to answer some of them. If you look at most of the "I asked this earlier but got ignored" questions, they will answer them starting with "not really sure how to answer this q"

Sorry I don't really hear it. I hear how you might think so for a moment but it ultimately doesn't sound like it to my ears.

it's interesting just how oblique AE remain about their specific production methods. Some of Rob's candid responses in that Fact mag interview are almost a 180 from how mysterious most of the responses to specific sounds or methods are concerned.

heh yeah it can't be true. i remember deer in the bicycle thread talking about riding a bike to work. that and various other details of his life i saw him discuss over time would amount to him being a pretty elaborately developed cover-up character with a detailed back story. i just thought it was weird that he answered at least one question directed at them as if he were them, and took the opportunity to bust his internet balls for doing it.

I asked twice about the numbers station recording Sean allegedly made for BoC's track "Gyroscope" which I've never felt was properly confirmed. I was trying to really get more of an answer about their interest in recording shortwave radio transmissions and things like that, not a full-fledged backstory, because I've always though ham/amateur radio was quite interesting. First time, no response. The second time I got a response, but only to my second question about field recording in general. So I guess it's a rather cryptic aspect of their recording efforts, if that's the case at all. Fair enough imo.

 

Also, they both answered my questions about cassette tapes quite thoroughly!
