It was challenging, but quite fun. well u did it man...even more; it sounds like a track from twelb ;) just out of interest, what speakers do you have? your track (this and others) sounds fantastic and also the complete album sounds pretty uniform, for being a VA project I have Mackie HR824 monitors: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/mackie-hr824-studio-monitor But honestly I rely more on my headphones, which used to be Sony 700's and are now Shure SRH840's. This was the first mastering job I did since making the headphones transition. I tend to get everything sounding good to me through the headphones, then switch to the Mackie mons for reassurance (usually they'll make me notice a few things in the lower/mid frequencies that need to be dealt with, but I knew my Sony headphones well enough to anticipate how mixes would transfer to other speakers. The Mackies are still super helpful though). Grain Bastard
Hi People Errr, I'm No.10 :) I got involved by being a lurker around here, seeing the tribute thread and then realising that Bewegung are one of my friends on SC. I asked if it was possible to be included and luckily for me they are truly awesome people and agreed - hope you regulars don't mind my intrusion :) Just a few things about my track - I tried to capture the vibe of Ae live shows as I've been to a fair few over the years (Musicbox in Manchester, Rainbow Warehouse & Medbar in Brum, Stealth in Nottingham) and they have always been mind blowing. So I tried to create a single track that reflects my experience of their live shows in terms of pace, dynamics & sounds. I definitely haven't the skills to create a proper cover, so its more of an 'interpretation' of a concept (lol) There is some really, really cool things on the album though so I am stoked beyond words to be a part of this release. Respect to all involved and yes the artwork is stunning. Thanks again. Guest Rulohead32
I finally managed to listen the album and WOW CONGRATS EVERYONE!!!! You got the essence of almost every Autechre era (I've heard some L-event/Exai, Confield and even LP5 reminiscences). But these tracks I liked them the most: Weakmassive - Modnesz Jeye - Aye(0)val.moon Zephyr Nova - Oslo4 . . z QBLA - AE Diggin' Missingsense - Piledrivers Grain Bastard - OffRamp Eczem - Annihilinhalation II Aeriae - Resigner Cichli (Deferlow Cover) Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/82309-watmm-ae-thx/page/3/#findComment-2131343 Share on other sites

I like your track, it's the most ominous and noise-like. It matches the title perfectly, and the title alone probably guaranteed entry to the album hehe. Jaderpansen's is one of my favorites also... I think it's the most eclectic, in a good way, and one of the best produced, at least to my ears. also, purely subjective: -my award for original track most passable as an actual Autechre track goes to Zephr Nova's Oslo4..z. Excellently done. -Modnesz is the perfect opener, captures some Quadristice/Quadrange vibes maybe... nice and glitchy the way i like it. -TMPEFD9 is probably my favorite, just plain badass, especially love that burst at :16. -Jeye's track the best tribute to Incunabula era Ae. Some of the drum work is straight out of Doctrine, etc; awesome. Great melodies. -Dulwich Dogs is the most frenetic, pure D&B energy onslaught. I like the vocal sample work on this one. -QBLA's is awesome in how it morphs pieces of Augmatic Disport and Corc (and others?) into a sick hip hop groove. -Piledrivers is a beast, pulses with great timbres and sort of off-polyrhythm goodness. -OffRamp is a great hard hitting track, evokes spl9 or untilted era Ae live to me... wicked meldoy at the end. -Lencle is dope, it's the most like Confield and EP7, or some of LP5's great transition stuff. Crisp and crunching. -Resigner is the most like Oversteps to me, another one of the most awesomely produced. Love the timbres; epic; one of my fav's -Altibbound is a lush tribute to Altibzz; great ambience and washes of synth and reverb. Kudos to the people who covered tracks, I don't think I could pull it off...seems like much more work to me somehow: -The egg Ovate version is a nice almost dubby rendition of the Egg/Eggshell. Lots of groove, space, atmosphere. Tits. -Cichli cover is amazing, it sounds like an acoustic rendition, like the percussion was done on the back of a guitar or something. I'd like to hear more about this one. I can't imagine pulling this off, even as I played the guitar for years. Again I'm just assuming this was guitar. -the Gelk cover is rich with melody. I like how the percussion stumbles in spots, true to form. Those bells really were perfect for closing the compilation.
