sounds soft as fuck. the production on this is real lush !!

I think this and the previous album sort of encapsulates a lot of what I was enjoying in machinedrum. I mean, not to say one's better than the other or anything because they're both artists expressing themselves and all art is an expression and its unfair to compare and undermine something by comparing it to something else similar in sound, but lone is clearly the better of the two imo.. just sayin'. imo.

So I've been caning Lone in anticipation of this album and I've noticed that he has trouble(?) truncating his synth lines into clean loops. The watery marimba melody in "New Colour" has a hangover blip as if another note's entry was included in the loop by mistake. I thought that it was a percussion artifact but at 3:22 onward, there are no rhythms so it's much more apparent. At 2:17 of "2 is 8" off of the new album, another blip can be heard as if the melody loop began again but was cut off to start the intro. Perhaps it's a demo but that channel is official Lone/R&S so I doubt it. On one hand, it bugs me because it becomes a focal point but on the other, I'm charmed by it because I used to make music by collating discrete drum, bass, melody, etc. loops crafted in Goldwave and I had "seams" all over the place as a result. Maybe I'm too hi--help me out

Is it me or does that "2 is 8" sound extremely Viberty? I never heard anything by Lone before this, mind you. Sounds really nice anyway!

Also, I lol'ed at Grant W-C replying on a R&S facebook status about this album being the best album of 2014 with just "colundi."

big lol at grant colundi post. what a facebook troll<3

also, yes. definitely got vibert-vibes from 2 is 8. recommended the album to a few friends based on knowing they dig vibert.

definitely think i'll be picking this album up, it's enjoyable as !!

Maybe it'll be a grower, but on first blush this sounds a bit underwhelming, almost if he's run out of nostalgic ground to tread over.

Is this available digitally (and legally) anywhere?[/quote

Not legally yet. Will be monday

CD came through the post today

Played it numerous times so far. Really like this release - it's like a more evolved 'Galaxy Garden' type of sound. Amazing lushness.

won't buy any of it purely because the cover is shit. i get the simplicity vibe but his music isn't simple. it's a wondrous, vibrant, jizzfest.

can't wait to listen tho.

album is full of lush VST sounds. reminds me of an anime soundtrack mixed with a smooth jazz band playing for the elderly.

not my favorite Lone.

Bought this today. I've collected most of his stuff since about 2008.

It sounds lush and the production is nice but...

Lone is starting to suffer from the same problem as Ulrich Schnauss & Tycho - the music is all starting to sound the same.

Then again, who am I to argue - it's a certain style he probably strives for.

The new album just feels a little too laid back for my tastes right now which is why I don't think I've been dying to replay it much. Give me more synth stabs and hard hitting beats
