Probably Autechre, Snares, and Zoviet France (insert punctuation characters here.)

So far Snares and AE have collaborated, I wish the supposed ZF / AE collaboration would be released. That would be pretty nuts.

Hot damn. I'm guessing that's it? Could use an album of that stuff.

me too, I wish there were more unexpected collaborations in general - you know, Autechre/Ceephax, Queen Adreena/Venetian Snares etc. why not?

^wow, what a coincidence, was just about to post just that - grouper. still my most confident and consistent answer to this question since 2006 when i discovered her.

2 - bardo pond

3 - deerhoof

4 - mouthus

and after that it's kinda muddy.

but most of the stuff related to what was coined as "new weird america" in mid 00's is pretty brilliant (ggd, excepter, sunburned hand of the man (though i haven't listened to them for a while), josephine foster, roy montgomery...) then autechre is probably somewhere in the top 10, as well as mbv and cocteau twins, tim hecker..

Autechre, this is an impossible question though

electro mini-album Megacity Rainfall
"cacas in igne, heus"  - Emperor Nero, AD 64

I probably listen to more Autechre than anything the past five years, but my favorite artist is still Hum. Love love love them, so much.

Briel is my favorite artist as of right now

lol, i think i'm more of a fan of the guy who cracks the whip in the informe semanal jingle

Ok here goes...

70s me - Boney M. (hey I was 5)

80s me - The Cure/nine inch nails

90s me - Richard James all the way

00s me - Tom Middleton & Mark Pritchard (Global Communication/Jedi Knights/Reload)

Today - FSOL/Amorphous Androgynous

Why listen to a band with just one distinct sound, when you could pick one with 2 or more different approaches to music? Dougans & Cobain's catalog is so expansive I can find a song for any mood. Only Aphex matches with such a varied catalogue.
