I applaud Kanye for making Yeezus.

Yeah even if the music wasn't on point (it was), I respect someone so big doing something like that. I'd love to see more of it. I hope he broadened a lot of people's tastes with that record, even if it was just a bit. Supposedly he has a new one coming out this year too I think.

No no, it's just a terrible album.

"In my opinion (lol)", of course.

I like how our standards have fallen since the early 2000s.

r+7 is a great album.

this year gonna be ballin when all is said and done.

Already been mentioned a few times, but the Colundi Sequence is fucking massive. Maybe better than Exai.

yeezus was kind of meh, but at least it pushed some buttons.

백호야~~~항상에 사랑할거예요.나의 아들.

Shout outs to the saracens, musulmen and celestials.

Last year was strong musically, no doubt about that. But I reckon not every single year can shine. Ebb and flow varies musically (and otherwise) with each year. That's just reality I think.

Plaid has done well this year with Reachy Prints though - a welcome improvement over Scintilli from 2011 I think. Even Ae's remix of Dilankex by Oberman Knocks was pretty awesome.

As for Die Antwoord though, I wouldn't bother.

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

I don't think much changed since 00s when the discussion rolls around *cute mainstream artist went all experimental to win over hip crowd* and *Warp signing of someone who was cutting edge nostalgia years ago* or *another Rephlex homeboy*, in fact 90s standards still alive and well.

Definitely some of the best stuff I've heard from anyone in years.

Hip hop is really on a roll right now. 2013, 2014 the goods just keep rolling in

Which artists do you have in mind?

The new Pro Era ep is really solid, and I'm waiting for the new Big Krit as well.

I'm really looking forward to new TDE stuff: Ab-soul, Jay Rock, Kendrick. I like Oxymoron more than some. Isaiah Rashad is great. Joey Bada$$ has an album in the fall, Action Bronson has one coming out. Those Flatbush Zombies singles are sick. The Underachievers have one coming out this year and the singles were nice. Theres definitely more I'm missing and that's just that particular niche. Piñata was bound to be one of my favorites and it delivered. Smoke DZA's Dream.Zone.Achieve has some sick production, as does Curren$y's Drive-In Theater. Good times all around. And I still think this is just one corner of the hip hop world.

Even if you're put off by the whole Chicago drill thing, Lil Herb's mixtape Welcome to Fazoland is really solid. Way more lyrical than most Chicago rappers I've heard and it bumps.

Aight thx! I'll check that out.
