Didn't read thread, but these girls might be interesting to check out;

Flyer from a show in Madrid. Some of my old classmates collaborating and making one female electro-acoustic super-crew, no beats though if that is a must?

I'm not sure the intentions are explicitly excluding men, more promoting women and this is probably the bestest way of doing it.

 

 

Specifically promoting one gender based on their gender is exclusionary in nature. If you are promoting women only, you are by default excluding men. Seems unusual to not just want to promote artists on the basis of their music only, gender seems inconsequential unless there is intent behind it.

 

There is probably a rational reason for this that I'm unaware of.

 

I'll leave it at that I don't want to offend anyone or de-rail the thread.

maybe if someone was to organize an event showcasing electronic music producers with severe learning disabilities or brain injuries all the complainers would be satisfied.

To be honest, I only go to live music & art events that feature women. So I'm for the inclusion of men in the audience at these events, and vehemently against any event that excludes males from audience participation. Although, If the op were to book Mrs. Jynx to do a live pa, I would definitely rsvp, but probably be unable to attend due to the recent international events regarding missiles and flying machines.

I had exactly the same mind set years ago - It's only when I started to really take notice the oppression and disjunct between the races, genders and all that that I started to understand the need of such counter movements. It's not that feminism is anti-men, or that pro-black movement is anti-white, or that an LBGTQ event is anti CIS - its just those things allow a group that is so marginalised by the mainstream that such events are empowering and raise positive awareness.
