If you have a pic of you holding the purchase I don't think it's too bad to ask for a rip?

Not everyone can afford to go buy a turntable and cassette deck just for this release.

Maybe they could send the download codes for christmas. Will write to Santa. Hopeful thinking...

I bought my first turntable so I could listen to Astrobotnia Volume 2 when it was first released.

Just a reminder - asking for, telling how, or offering to make rips of any copyrighted music (even if the person claims they own it) is not allowed on WATMM - you can do that stuff outside of the site, but please respect our rules that try as much as possible to respect the artist's wishes for their work.

It was obvious the format was what the release was intended to be released on, and it's up to the artist to decide how they want their work distributed/presented, not the fans.

Folks violating this rule (especially after me making mention of it) will be warned accordingly.

grants comment about looking forward to hearing the rips indicates there wont be a digital release immediately, unless he was just talking out of his ass, which i doubt

then there's the fact that a2 and b2 were put on bandcamp about a year after release, and plus ten grace was put up 7 years later (check it out)

a2 and b2 were put up right around when the triple release was announced, which is a good marketing strategy. the two bits of news feed each other. also by adding some time in between the physicals and the digitals, the news is hitting somewhat different sets of people. maybe these will be put up when f(x) is announced? or maybe in may when americans have their tax returns, as digitals dont make the best holiday gifts and the winter is the cheap season.

i hope the digitals make it out at some point as the production on edm is phenomenal

I hope digitals will come sooner as this was such a limited release direct from the artist. As far as I know A2 and B2 were readily available on CD from your favourite record stores, is that right?

As I said, the artist makes that decision (after all, it's their music) - as fans we should respect that decision (no matter how backwards we might think it is), and purchase a copy if we want it - at that point, we can do whatever we want with our personal copy, including making a rip of it for our personal use.

That being said, if the artist came on here and said it was OK to distribute a digital rip, then that's another matter...

Totally agree, also I wasn't scrounging for a rip so no blood on my hands

I'll be making my own recording of the cassette for myself, sadly the method I adopt won't do as much justice as a digital from the label. No complaints/regrets! I'm just glad we got the set at all, it's lovely stuff.
