Which often come with an instant download, at which point the dilemma rises again: why bother paying for a CD when I won't use it when it arrives? I wouldn't say I'm against CDs/records, but as a cheapskate I'm losing the ability to reason why I should pay to have a CD shipped to me I won't use more than once every couple of years. That's probably the main reason: I'm really cheap.

 

I've bought quite a few records via Bandcamp (never buy CDs, as you've said - what's the point? edit -I did buy one CD, but that was Scald Rougish and pretty obv why).

I've never had an issue with either the pressing quality, or the presentation.

having said that, I seem to have a good nose for quality releases as you can see from my purchase history

i don't like bandcamp, it looks cheap and like artists have failed of finding a label, somehow

i know it's not true, but it has the look of it

i wish they develop more the design possibilities and interractions with fans/followers and artists

I'd be interested in following those of you on Bandcamp. Most of the music I buy is based on recommendations from this site, so I expect you have some stuff in your collections that would appeal to me.

I don't listen to music on the computer much, so I'm happy to buy physical - although I always get vinyl or tape whenever possible, not really a fan of CDs in general.

also the fact they don't make file in .wav is a boomer !

.flac is good but non friendly with many software and devices.

The lack of WAV downloads is really weird. They allow WAV uploads so why not? Crazy file sizes or?

yah the difference of weight between flac and wav is so minor, so at the end WHY THE HELL ?
