Well, I don't know why it wouldn't be true. Doesn't this look to you like a huge marketing campaign from Warp and Aphex? I don't think he would take the time to do the interviews otherwise. He will give us 10 years of records and then disappear for another 10 years until the next delivery. He probably has a vault somewhere with "to be released after my death" written on it.

I'm sure its true that he has tons of music, but I'm not sure if we will see a lot of that material soon and if he will really go thru all the trouble to release it all.

How I wish he release it all!!!!!!!!!!

But I wonder how good it is marketing wise to release a shit load of music all at once... I think he will release syro and wait at least another year before releasing anythign else. I dont believe he will release 3 album all in one row, doesnt make sense marketing wise at all.

I was thinking this recently. His main hang ups about releasing his music seem to be mainly in regards to having to cope with the waves of people copying him. Death would soundly resolve that issue

Indeed!

And you just wander between those rooms, making music?

"...I can go inside my little Cray supercomputer in the day, and people don't even know I'm in the room. You can kind of hide away in there. My wife will be calling me, "Rich!" My wife is next to me smiling as I'm saying that. She knows my secret."

Has Anyone in the US received a confirmation for an afx listening party?

I already have a fear that "upper tier" blog media blowhards have infiltrated the list and have invited 3-4 friends each.

How many kids do you have?

Two boys, eight and six. They make music, both of them. I don't know if you've ever heard of an artist called Mark Fell – it's avant-garde techno, not danceable. Someone said [my son's music] sounds like a cross between that and Holly Herndon, who's another experimental electronic artist. That's really accurate, actually. He was five when he did it.

Classic RDJ. Mark Fell's techno is better than his, though.

None of my friends in the US have heard anything yet today.

do you think his comments about Herndon and Mark Fell were supposed to be sort of a backhanded slam? It didn't come off to me that way, but im curious how others felt

No, not really, since if he was slamming them he'd also be slamming his son by inferring that he's as 'terrible' as Fell and Herndon.

The difference is that Mark Fell knows when to stop.

no come on, mark fell is awesome. getting some belgian robots playing drums is one thing but someone should really tells AFX how shitty skrillex is...

AMEN. Skrillex does worship Richard though, I know for a fact.

Positive Metal Attitude

"To be honest, I thought, "Who's even interested anymore?" When Warp was really interested, I was like, "Really? Is this a joke or something?" I kind of expected them to say, "No, nobody actually buys any records anymore, mate. Sorry.""

James must have an endless supply of pants to replace the ones that catch on fire every time he speaks.

Richard needs to start a synth company called

Did Richard admit he's autistic?

He said, emotionally, he was somewhere on the artistic spectrum.

This has made me even happier. Thanks for the link. It does seem like a massive marketing campaign. Whether his disdain for the work of actually releasing an album is feigned or not, I'm grateful he's doing it. Thanks to you guys for the whole Caustic Window kick in the pants you gave him. I'm sickeningly giddy about this whole thing. DAMMIT 19 DAYS.

I didn't receive anything yet for the NY event

I'm hardly a closed minded nun. Remember, I'm on a fucking IDM forum.... an IDM forum.. Think about that for a second before claiming people are closed minded nuns.

despite him claiming to release new music soon, i dont think we will hear anything besides an ep within a year.

As if no one is bugging him to release music, fuck warp, cmon you cunts, get into action and put his music out
