They were joke tracks made while drunk(posted on XLT) and the lyrics in them make fun of the same people who can't tell the difference between actual good music and bandwagon copycats. You seem to confuse samples and timbres with composition, please.... Anyone can copy a sound and make bits that sound alike, but it still won't sound like the real deal unless you've got an extreme attention to detail and a good sense of melodic composition. Very few are able to make authentic sounding clones of your WATMM gods, but some do - I've heard it. Steinvord doesn't.

Ontrack v2 is a great song. That said, much like the Caustic Window LP (anachronistically) before it you can see why it wasn't (formally) released.

If Steinvord is simply "somewhat throwaway DSP wank tracks" I'm always game for more of those because I find it fascinating to hear the mostly-finished stuff that our musical heroes literally "throw away." It gives you an insight into how they go about the process of making the music.
