Its just a load of noise though. Just saying.

Lol I dont hear much noise at all.. Different ears maybe?

I hear crazy tuned oscillator layers and arpeggios going on and off.

If u listen at 12 min in.. It sounds like that Synthi AKS from the photo.
Richard say he could just smoke a J and watch that thing going on with sound-fx

+1 for 36 Shroomdot, one of my favourite things ever. i used to listen to it when i visited big cathedrals.

Makes me wonder about the unreleased musique concrete/algorithmic tracks he mentioned in that 2001 NME interview that he thinks are his best but other people would probably think are his worst.

i wonder if the smojphace/ktpa tracks came out of those, i love those to death...

Haven't been here for a whole while now. It was also a while ago since I put on those sc tracks. Jesus, it put me straight on memory lane...

It's like those were more sunnier times...

yeah the recent live stuff is the shit but I can see that being released as an album more than early 2000s tuss tracks, ya know ?

What the heck? How did I miss that track? (Reminds me a bit of me weirdly.)

But that could be early onset Alzheimers I suppose.

What are the tracks on this channel? They do not sound like recordings from live shows also the animation looks somewhat official? Could also be some elaborate fake

why are the not on his SoundCloud?

Seems like a mix of live recordings and rare recordings (web/vinyl/unreleased exclusives), the animation is the aphex NFT with different color overlays

it's from richard's manchester 2019 youtube. idk how to split the tracks but it's from like a 6 minute section of new stuff about an hour in.

Its so beautiful but is not the drums live 909 drumming by Richard?

I remember when he released Tha2 it was not the same as the one in Brooklyn.

that clip is just the very end of the 17 minute mini live set that begins the 2019 manchester show. it's not technically named mini live set for manchester, but it is recognizably a reworked version of the section that is labeled "mini live set" on the official 2019 printworks youtube. printworks was about a week before the manchester show. both versions are great.

manchester i posted above. here's printworks

to answer your question, yeah i think i hear live drum input

Sorry, I'm sure the information is buried here among these 700+ pages, but is there any easily accessible catalogue of rough chronology for the SC dump stuff? I thought I'd make up a bunch of CDs to play in the car, which is where most of my AFX happens (wife = not so keen), and ideally I'd like to do it in some kind of order. SAW, SAWII, RDJ related etc....

Ta,

Richard

Thanks, but I don't see anything there that catergorises the tracks, or am I missing something?

That's such a clever response. The use of the term "IDM" tells me all I need to know.

Can any grown ups give me a proper answer please? It'd be nice to be able to place them into some kind of chronology and dive in properly.
