some people have said to me, do you make your tracks slow and then speed them up, which is funny to me, answer is no, the vibe would be totally different if you did that, Ive tried it, doesnt work for me, it would sound sped up, I make them at the speed they are, of course I do stare at and enter data in, speed set to zero , ha but thats it, tracks like mt sain michel st micahels mount off drukqs, im surprised i didnt have a heart attack when makin those tracks, i know i was in a total rush state for the entire time of making tracks like those, especially that one!

:nope: i'm not sure he's telling the truth... Vordhosbn for example... i'm sure he normally played then changed speed...

really why u need to do this? its really a bad idea generally to speed the track after detalization, cause before speeding it may sound fine, but when you do it everything changes and sounds little different, not how u planned. specially the tunes. you need to play it right from begining, it will loose magics. you still can chop and slice breaks at high speeds as usual

even if to twiddle as many knobs as possible on a synth and then speed it up, you dont know how it will sound in the end.

hm maybe at that times DAW was limited to smallest element size fro chopping and he recorded drums at slow and then apply to main track speeded up. but still it's more of a quick fix then cheating. im sure he wouldnt do it on purpose.

or it is some precise moment in vordhosbn that your talking about? im sure it was written as is, its just high tempo

nah... vordhosbn isn't that fast anyway

wasn't that track made on a laptop? assuming it was made on a tracker (or other kind of "pc" sequencer), you can perfectly program a track at high bpm.

what do you mean by "changing speed"? increasing the pitch isn't the same as changing the tempo.

lol

u're not musicians 2 know it... try 2 play this track on piano! u'll c... lol

of course i'm not a musician

i've been under the influence of the idm-man, trying different styles of drum & bass and switching sounds during the sequence, pastoral melodies & fucked up beats, etc.

Lol, there I was too lazy to read these properly, thinking I'd get around to it when I had a bit more time given that we're in aphex flood of info period. Thank goodness for those of us that archive crap. It's a blessing, hah.

I am so happy to have these tracks (interview is cool too). I have always wanted this type of AFX "release". Experiments, noodles, ideas. Such a joy! Just had a second wave of Syroboners and now this is extending my excitement. wee

Mad props to everyone who salvaged the interview, tracks, etc. Downloading as we speak!

Interesting why it's all been pulled though. Maybe the Illuminati caught on to Richard's 9/11 and chemtrail theories. :fear:

Maybe it was hammering noyzelab's servers hosting the interview. Perhaps the idea that he didn't want to be so exposed, so they removed it knowing that the kids would have saved it by now nwae (or we've since proven to be twats that didn't deserve the interview given our time spent mostly talking about the non gear talk). Or maybe rich did a David Cameron and wanted to remove all evidence of the interview from the net, and soon we'll get another one that completely contradicts what was said in the this one.

aphex interview removal speculation thread needed.

I wonder if they decided to pull the interview and content after the way it was handled by the online hipster press? Lots of click-minded headlines that read like "Aphex Twin releases free new 21 track album".

I'm glad i was already deep in to reading the interview before i saw something like that surface on social media feeds.

I don't think Warp freaked out, if they were going to freak it would have been when that Guardian article about 9/11 was posted over a week ago.

It's sad that it was taken down, clearly a lot of work went into it and it was the best afx interview of all time by a huge margin.

or did WARP throw the hammer down: "we could sell these tunes!! You're diluting the brand! WE own the soundcloud, YOU don't! We will take down these very rare tunes and replace them with Minipops67."

Did anyone manage to fetch the images at Soundcloud?

Look who you're asking

Here are the others to go with the ones you've already posted, I farmed the source pics from soundcloud a few days back.

 I think we've restored everything now. :music: 55 tracks, both interview parts & Soundcloud images.

I don't think it's anything to do with Warp. As someone previously said, this interview pretty much had their 'seal of approval', as it was posted on their actual site and shared across the social network accounts. Also, if I remember rightly, the opening notes of both interviews stated that a Warp employee had supplied Dave and Rich with some of the media included.

(The pendulum footage was uploaded onto the Warp YouTube channel as unlisted, does anyone know if those clips are still online?)

I don't think it's to anything to do with the Noyzelab servers either, as the blog itself is hosted on Blogspot. Besides, that wouldn't explain the disappearance of all the Soundcloud content.

Seems to me like Richard pulled everything himself, but why?

I've got those Pendulum videos ripped too... I'll upload them asap!
