Local governments in shitty states are shitty. We can't do anything about them, unfortunately. Maybe they'll all die after these protests so we don't have to form gulags when Biden wins. You got me.

Is it really all coronavirus conspiracies though? Cause I remember seeing lots of anti-5G stuff months before the first news of covid19 started reaching us. I think luddites/ people concerned with surveillance are the militant ones burning the masts more than the coronavirus people.

In Holland it's a couple of loud nut jobs. In the USA they make up a good deal of the electorate. It's a difference.

Apparently conspiracy nuts have latched onto 5G causing corona - or corona being a coverup for things caused by 5G - or ... whatever. I really don’t want to know more,  to be honest. The burning definitely started after the corona lockdown, though.

Well, I mean... that's a pretty clear case of mental illness (mixed with a heavy dose of racism, something she'd likely still have without the mental illness part).

That liberate Minnesota clip is a good example of people on that side who actually seem quite reasonable, but have also brainwashed by religion and that bizarro notion of what "freedom" means to so many of these people.  They've just accepted that people die for freedom, and how many is up to God.  So fucked up.

i don't know.. i mean.. it's hard to say w/someexpressions of racism where the fuck it's coming from. i'm guessing fo rmost of her life she didn't even think about israel.  then one day she heard something/read something/watched infowars etc and got all the wrong 'answers' for her questions. idk.. if she'd gotten different answers maybe she'd still be all up in the butt of "zionists" and conspiracies but with the proper amount of information i think people can overcome some shit like this. "jews control the media" type stuff. people have a hard time challenging themselves on it though and seem to be lazy only when it's about learning something counter to their beliefs. so i'm probably full of shit. but if that one black guy can educate and befriend all those KKK asshole sand change their minds and get them to surrender their robes to him then i think this lady could learn some new facts to open her eyes about some things. 

but also, if she could just be made busy doing something productive and useful she might be better off just not having time to think about crazy shit. if she could just get involved with an organization that makes fudge for the blind...

I think the only hope for her is discarding one paranoid delusion for a different one.  The KKK assholes that fellow turned around seemed for the most part to be "sane" at least in the psychiatric sense of the word.  She's just always going to be on her own trip, and it's not going to be guided by reason.  That's my guess anyway.

i'd have to hear her thoughts on flat earth, 5g towers, secret muslim presidents etc.. to confirm the diagnosis. 

Maybe the Confederates should have been granted secession rights after all, so they can all flock to Dixieland and leave the rest of us alone.

our monetary supremacy relies in large part upon us keeping the attention of the world (why Trump is not exactly surprising, really...) so I wouldn’t bet on that day coming any time soon.

of course, yeah. i'm looking at the global picture tho, was speaking more towards the decades of cultural tendencies of American supremacy in all ways at all things (obv this is very exaggerated and inflated) that has eventually resulted in a Trump happening. America's status at the top of the world is reliant largely on attitude and bluster but it isn't entirely hollow by any means either. all i'm saying is re: Zephyr's comment of ignoring America, yeah, that'd be great but also America is going to do everything it can to not let that happen.
