Ghostbusters with Female Cast

It's a shame that the producers and financiers for hollywood movies know that the money put into an already recognizable name has a probability of a higher return on investment than a new idea/franchise.

If they were to reboot something, and if it was something cool with hopefully have innovative, hard working and talented people doing it, what is left to reboot, that wouldn't normally be thought about for a reboot ? Surely there's something that is overlooked that would actually be a fantastic world to delve into. I was sorry they didn't keep the John Carter (despite it's issues) thing going. Maybe do another 1984, we're about due for a retelling of that tale. ("of course you'd say that dleetr, steel beams, praise bush")

this looks as bland and uninteresting as you'd expect a hollywood (80s movie/franchise) reboot in 20xx to be.

i did laugh at the (agreed) most cringe-y bit, when the stereotypically black woman was hitting the suh-weet bajayzus ghost out of her friend and the friend was like "thats going to leave a mark" and the black woman kept pounding her.

but ... yeah. zero enthusiasm to even torrent this one.

Will this have a scene where a Ghostbuster is dreaming about a male ghost going down on her? Sexual equality and all.

Harold Ramis would be spinning in his grave if he could see page 5 of this thread and the lack of quality in that gag.

Maybe they should have fucked with everyone's expectations and have had the new female cast investigate a manor in the woods, then have them all brutally killed off by some putridly evil phantom, horror film style, except for the black lady who blows up the mansion by setting one of he proton packs to feedback on itself, thereby detonating itself and all the bloodied packs of her former teammates, which she had piled around it. Having the black lady survive till the end would defy Hollywood convention and satisfy the social justice nazis. There could be one other survivor, a wheelchair bound little boy, before the end credit roll when they are in the van driving up the tree lined avenue leading to the gates of the property with the burning building pushing off into the distance, they close up the little boy's face through his side window and we see a slight demonic twinge to his visage and a twisted smile.

i think the bigger shame is that many people go to movies with an already recognizable name.

This is why I don't watch movies anymore. I want something new, not something rehashed into a shell of its former self.
