the-tuss and rephlexrecords are uploading previously-released aphex tracks but only to try and cash in. They both appeared in the last 24 hours, you can bet some laptop kiddy is in control of them and will start trying to pass off their own bollocks as aphex soon enough.

most of these are people who have been using their accounts for ages and are not trying to present themselves as being afx

Well The Tuss is Aphex of course, but what I'm saying is, that the-tuss soundcloud account is not controlled by RDJ. I'll guarantee you its controlled by someone else. You see this all the time on twitter when people pretend to be celebs - create a realistic looking account and try and make it seem plausible, then run amock later.

That's the most convincing afx fake (if it is fake) I've ever heard, I think.

It doesn't sound anything like Mike P, not at all.... The composition/style of the tracks, the mastering... none of it. At least to my ears.

Point out something in his discography that sounds like anything on that soundcloud.

It sounds like Frog Pocket, more than anything. And I'm pretty sure Mike P wouldn't tag his shit as afx, he's quite accomplished in his own right.

I don't know his discography well enough to do what you asked, I was just going by "clues" on that account and took my best guest as to who it could be. I'm sure you're right and it's just some random person. It's clearly time for me to stop obsessing over weird accounts as I try to digest 112 insane RDJ songs!!

p.s. i'm not trying to start any trouble, since the rules say its not ok to betray the privacy of super famous (or in some cases infamous) musicians on watmm.
I try to anticipate the burden of the mods, as there could be awkwardness, stalkers, spams, disruptive behaviour, too much at stake really.

i decided to just enjoy the music of florian hertz no matter who made it. but by all means don't take my word for it. I did notice that there's a lot of reverb being used as a send effect which is eerily similar to a certain IDM superstar's staple technique. Also some stutter effects and even short delays with a lot of feedback that causes some of my hair to bristle.

So for any paranoid user still thinking that bandcamp was legit - some moron just downloaded an album from a hardworking netlabel and published it as Aphex Twin. Why? I have absolutely no clue, but they should be nameshamed at the least. But for people who liked what they heard, here's the album:

Not aphex, but probably a mate. Already been posted numerous times in here too, but yeah, good tunes nonetheless!

The Heavy mental label were behind another Aphex scam a couple of years back where tons of hours of "unheard early afx tunes" were uploaded to some streaming site, I doubt they had nothing to do with the Bandcamp scam.

Actually, i've heard that their reputation was damaged because of this, twice already. Someone took the tunes from their label and uploaded them to some streaming site in the past, as you said. Math Geek (label owner, aphex fan) immidiatly wrote in social network, that strepsipter and EP are fakes and tracks were stolen from them, again.

So the heavy mental label is good and don't have anything to do with it.
