Once they switched to the algorithmic feed I stopped seeing content as it was posted and it forced me to stop relying on my feed for current content. I actually felt like I was being violated and was pretty much like

You can bend your feed to more of what you want to see, it takes some time, and I’ve found following hashtags helps train it somewhat.

Use DuckDuckGo. Yes there is some SEO in DDG but they don’t show ads, and don’t harvest personal data.  

I have a paid version of kagi that includes pro versions of all relevant ai assistants

now u have 2 more options, what u follow and favorites... still some adds "personalized" for u but no biggie... 

it's a shame u can only add a certain amount of users to your favorites list cause that would be perfect... well at least when I tried it like an year ago...

Advertising that isn’t targeted and doesn’t rely on scraping your personal information. 

Seeing google tanking trying to survive on advertising I wonder if this is even a reliable business model these days. I am very sure online journalism could not survive without subscribers just relying on advertising

Google basically owns all of advertising on the internet & have profited to disgusting amounts during their dominance which has been like ~20 years now? their search quality has tanked, sure, but i don’t know that it’s hit/effected their bottom line to any significant degree…their cuts over the last few years i believe were all related to over-hiring during the COVID boom days. i could be wrong here?
