that would be another cool avenue - teach it to understand the difference between drawn cartoon fish or real fish

imagine what this would be like connected to a form of biofeedback & augmented reality. a 'trip' that responds to your mood and feelings based on a custom image database you've selected (and rated certain images with feelings like anxious, happy, sad,etc)

i am trying to find out if theres any smoothing achievable in the program or not, noone has got back to me yet.

certainly you can remove the colour noise (the psychedelic colouring) and the illuminance noise, and then add some sharpening back in with photoshop camera raw filter. it makes them look a bit more like normal life instead of acid trip.

im rendering now so i'll show a result in a mo.

i wanted to do that. its not easy. i mean really not, yet. they trawl through millions of images and its all waaaaaay out of my league

I wonder if this could be used eventually to create some kind of image enlargement/sharpening algorithm. Like the 'enhance' thing in tv shows but instead it just makes up the missing data, so you could eventually have highly detailed images made from low res photographs.. a bit of a dream but maybe in the future?
