it's the best way people have figured out so far. each frame contains the previous one at 50% alpha channel to ensure at least some sort of smooth transition. it's like deepdream motion blur.

the fear and loathing one looked way more legit though, the pizza one is probably the least 'animated' of all the video attempts ive seen so far. whatever they did they didn't do it as well as the others
