some guy on the /r/aphextwin subreddit is claiming "inside information" that another EP of 2000s stuff and melodies from mars are in the pipeilne this year+early next year. Everybody is giving him shit because he basically has no information whatsover except for that vague claim.

Richard himself said he's got MFM in the pipe. He said he had to have it in to warp by the end of the week (or was it month) otherwise they couldn't get it to a pressing plant until like october....

Man I can't find the post. It was deleted maybe that guy was getting really defensive. But yeah, people were giving him shit because a) we already know about MFM and b) the other unannounced EP had basically no specific information whatsoever. Just that it was an EP and had unreleased tracks, maybe along the lines of ODS.

Well:

- Syro and CCAI were already predicted by some guy on reddit (together with a Clark album) too. Probably unrelated, but it was correct after all.

- What was already said, MFM is not a suprise.

- Another EP seems just very likely at the rate he's releasing last year or so. And we had a few clues that 'he was just starting up' from Joyrex too (and his post a few posts above here).

So wether he really has inside info or not, an EP and MFM seems something that anyone could predict at this point, so it's a bit obsolete. The only thing I wonder about is that he mentions MFM being remade. Will it be completely redone or just remastered / beefed up? (but that is a discussion for the MFM thread)

That Rome track was played in 2002, i don't expect it on a 2006-08 compilation.

MFM being remade in the 2000's was mentionned by Richard in the Another Man interview (2010):

So that would mean that those MfM versions date from around 2007. it will be interesting to see what remains of those leaked tape/vinyl versions from the 90's. Same / similar MIDI, different gear and mixing? Different tunes altogether?

^ I meant on the above unannounced EP áfter this 2006-8 one. Jokingly, as it is assumed to be a Squarepusher track.

Am aware of that interview bit, the problem is that 'redid' is quite a broad term. So the question still stands. But like I said, that's for the MFM thread :)

I sincerely hope this upcoming EP is full of Tussy goodness. I've got a strong feeling it'll be along the lines of Analord 9 (if what we know/have heard so far is anything to go by) which is cool, but a little disappointing for me.

Well he's been releasing thematic stuff so much of it will probably sound similar.

It just frustrates me how he releases his throwaway material on Warp, and saves all the groundbreaking next level shit for Soundcloud.
