Never ordered at Boomkat because out of all the webshops they seem to have the least stuff in stock at any given time, it almost became a bad joke. Haven't kept up with their site in ages because of this. Also, a mandatory link: https://twitter.com/boomkat_ebooks

its really remarkable how popular the site is when they have so little in stock. they are also really bad and slow at restocking stuff that sells well, took them a long time to restock things like dalglish at the peak of its promotion, etc. strange operation.

 

 

 

Last time I bought something from them I waited two weeks, remembered that there isn't a 'your orders' section so had to email them to cancel it. A couple of days later I had a refund. Bought the same thing from Amazon and it arrived the next day. I really, really, really hate using Amazon over independents or direct from the artist/label, but sometimes it's ridiculous.

I never used a site for downloads before that had flacs go out of stock. I had to email them to add more to my account, because 'they run out over time'.

Why the fuck would they take down the website to do the switch. Surely they could have set up a new server to but the site on and done the switch in a few hours.

Seems pretty amateur that the site is still down, given its their only outlet for sales.

it is very amateurish.. they're losing cash for every day the website isn't up as well. Very strange.

Yeah totally strange, I'm an idiot and even I know you do your site upgrade in a separate folder/server then when all is OK you migrate it over to the main folder/server. Especially if you're a shop - It's been almost a week's worth of sales they're down now ...
