No no...POLITELY stab her with my meat pencil.

(I hope it came through that I was only using such language for comic effect, and not because I actually think of sex as stabbing the other person with your genital/weapon...necessarily)

So anyway...

[ ] stabbed

[X] un-stabbed

I was in the midst of a pretty serious manic episode on the night in question. I made her laugh and we got on well, but I felt like I was on acid. Eventually I felt like I was subjecting my insanity on her (even though she knew I was bipolar and seemed very forgiving of my constant nervous fidgeting and cognitive/emotional randomness) and so after a flurry of self-deprecating apologies, I picked up my coat and left. (she looked very confused by this)

So that's how that went.

i want to see this from her perspective, her thoughts would be very useful in this thread and will help answer some questions i have about what women think when faced with someone who is self-deprecating and has little to no self-steem, my fear is that they are thinking "i can't be dealing with this" which is more than understandable

I mean, I have plenty of self-esteem in general

I was just a mess that night so I was in 'damage control' mode

Actually, I kinda think I freaked her out by leaving so abruptly

I hope she didn't think I was repulsed by her or whatever

I was just trying to get out of her hair

I probably should've walked her back to her place

Oh well

I actually literally don't remember whether that is true or not please give me a quote of me saying it lol Limpy. And the fact that I don't remember whether I said it kind of shows it's not indicative of much of anything

And let's pretend my gender politics views come from a darker place - does that in any way discredit the validity of the statements I make? No it does not. So it's completely irrelevant.

And no it doesn't come from a darker place, just outrage at the workplace death gap, the high school and college graduation gap, the jail sentencing time for the same crime gap, the chance of crimes even going to trial gap, the double standards in rape and sexual crimes, the rampant misrepresentation of statistics from flawed studies to further political agendas on the part of feminists (70 cents, 1 in 4) etc. Not a dark place an admittance of reality, sorry you accept the bullshit idea that everything is good and just in this world towards men and women are perpetual victims rather than profoundly privileged in many areas of society.

Zef i recommend Christina Sommers, she opened my mind about a lot of things, she is either a very logical person (which i love) or just a liar (im sure someone here will tell me she is, i will listen to what you have to say but you gotta have a strong argument)

(this is not the best videos but a nice introduction, recommend to just youtube her)

1) you said it and you know you did. (And obviously it was deleted when you were suspended)

2) If you genuinely believe that men are worse off than women in this world/continent/country/city/neighborhood, then you are *severely* deluded.

I am all for fixing problems wherever they may be, but the fact that 100% of your emphasis is on how women get over on men is extremely telling. (I mean, perhaps you concede that occasionally women have it worse, but again you don't seem as concerned with female victims of this-or-that as you are with their male counterparts)

When the Bill Cosby issue comes up, MRAers don't seem to think things like "wow, that guy is (almost) certainly a monster...I feel bad for those women"...instead they worry about how to discredit the accusers, or how this might affect the statute of limitations on rape chargers (I wish I was joking there)...

Or you get people like Stefan Molyneaux saying that Robin Williams was driven to suicide by his greedy ex-wife.

MRAers have a sacred narrative ("women getting over on men") and then everything in the world is shoehorned into that narrative. This is not how rational people look at the world.

Anyone who's unfamiliar with r/redpill (et all): go dip a toe in and see how it feels. It's a fascinating sociological case study.

Yeah absolutely excellent videos, I'd love to see any feminist attempt a point to point dissection of the arguments presented but really there's no way to do it. Because everything she says is always factual.

What an absolutely massive strawman as usual. And what the fuck does redpill have anything to do with this? Nothing. There is no sacred narrative and replace "MRA" with "feminist" and "men" with "women" and you've kind of just described feminists. Sacred narrative that women are oppressed and men are privileged and anything that disagrees with their views they shoehorn it into extremist ideologies and call them misogynistic.

All I want is facts and feminists literally never provide relevant ones. "OMG 70 cents on the dollar!". "OMG 1 in 4!". All bullshit if you even take a remotely critical look at the sources and nature of those statistics yet they are paraded all over as proof of female oppression.

You seem to be referring to "Tumblr feminism" when you say "feminism"

(Should I reciprocate your accusation of Strawmanning?)

Unfortunately the term "feminism" has become synonymous with "Tumblr feminism"

And that does nobody any good

I have plenty of issues with "Tumblr feminism"

I only really care about the basic tenets of first-wave feminism

(E.g. women's suffrage, Rosa Luxembourg, Susan B Anthony, Simone de Bouvier, the ideas that came out of early anarchist/industrial-workers' movements)

As applied to modern circumstances

But sure, Tumblr feminism has many of the same problems that MRA has

No argument there

Tumblr feminism gives feminism proper a bad name

(Literally, it seems)

As many people who would otherwise be sympathetic to basic feminist ideals

Get left with a bad taste in their mouth (and are told "that's feminism")

So yeah, let's agree on terminology

If we wanna get this thing off the ground

Agreeing on terminology seems to be the primary cause of all disagreements on the internet. So really fuck terminology with a meat stick, and stick with statements

-Women are not oppressed in western society by any reasonable metric

-Women have numerous privileges which men do not have, and acknowledging this brings about harsh insults

-Men have numerous disadvantages which women do not have, and acknowledging this brings about harsh insults

Basically saying anything that may in any way disrupt the traditional tumblr teminist narrative that women are oppressed and they need safe spaces, brings about harsh insults from a shit load of people, even on here on WATMM an otherwise cool seeming place.

Saying that men are worse off than women in Western countries

Is exactly like saying that racism is dead in America:

People seem to like to think it

But it's very plainly not the case

The fact that you wouldn't even think that women are worse off According to some metric

SIMPLY BY SHEER (statistical) ACCIDENT

Is problematic

Wow way to be vague

You think women are disadvantaged in every single area over men and have no advantages whatsoever?

The vast majority of women are disadvantaged in the penis area over men. Not to generalize, but I will say that they are generally more advantaged in the vagina area.

One shouldn't think a failed date and endless discussions on feminism are linked. But the connection surely seems potentially very powerful. Painfully so.

On the other hand, it's heartwarming to see luke and chen kicking it off so passionately. The more passionate the relationship, the less likely these endless discussions will arise. Thats my non scientific factoid of the year.

May 2016 bring many more watmm love babies.

Hmmm... Speaking of which, why not try to get limpy and zeff to hook up with eachother? If my estimates prove right, the world (watmm) might be a better place because of it.

shame limpy's date didn't get anywhere. If they had babies it would have been his sacred duty to archive and print off this forum thread for his family to read. And then it could get passed on to his grandchildren, and their children, and so forth. A family heirloom.

kickstarter idea, WATMM the book.

1. raise $1,000,000

2. contact blurb.com and print 1000 copies for $20 each

3. get them all signed by famous WATMMers

4. mysteriously sell out immediately

5. copies surface on ebay for $2,000

considering we managed to do the cat023 thing this aint so far fetched, we might even go further!

we could also kickstart my sexual dreams while we are at it for example.
