I'm realizing encounters like this give me some of the purest feelings of joy anymore.

Had one of these playing Gescom's A1-D1 downtown a few years back. I was smiling all day too.

This is super spergy but I sincerely believe more people (like, orders of magnitudes more) would be into this stuff if there was any kind of culture around it beyond, like, WATMM. I guess you have to have kind of a "scene" of similar artists to get really popular, though, and there's just nobody on their level.

This album has really been doing it for me in the last couple of days—I've had a craving for loose, bleak jams, and this is exactly what I've wanted to hear.

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

It's like with porn, never in full - sometimes you skip, sometimes you lose interest to continue

anyone else feels that tbm2 could be an homage to basic channel?

Queen's We Will Rock You more like (i think there was an appropriate edit somewhere in this thread)

If i were to choose the most BC-esque track on elseq 1-5 it would be freulaeux (along the Maurizio's M4-M4.5 lines), still far-fetched

^ lol you mean queen in my empire?

yes, freulaeux but also pendulu casual imo

i agree with maurizio but these bc two tracks somehow radiate through el-seq ...as if i can hear them in the background.

maybe i can relate bc to l-seq more than maurizio and r&s tracks, cause imo el-seq is their the most ''spacial'' release so far with lots of reverbs, gated and ducked verbs and echos, feels like an outer space, and that's how i feel bc tracks, as related to space while r&s track are also spacial but related to planet earth and coasts, while maurizio are somehow the most related to indoors states... dunno, mostly (not 100%), in essence, something like:

1. maurizio - clubs, metros, halls

2. r&s - open space on earth, coasts

3. bc - space and space travel

4. el-seq - oblivion (movie) type earth, space, orbiting, preparation for space travel

...japan bonus...

5. perlence subrange 6-36 - pure space traveling

I can see why TBM2 made you think of BC, the delayed stabs in Quadrant Dub I have some sort of resemblance. Mutism also has these randomly chopped noise echoes that are similar to the snare drum mayhem in curvcaten. Ae's remix on Fat Cat is much closer to BC aesthetics.

Personally, both TBM2 with its chord stabs, and the AE_LIVE section starting around the 18' mark, make me think of someone scanning an AM/FM radio, which in turn brings Michel Chion's Dies Irae to mind.

about TBM2, I'm reminded of the similar groove at the start of this Vladislav Delay track
