Thanks user487363530. And user4873635301. Now 48736353001.

they should’ve cut the entire salt planet thing which 100% sucked, yes Leia should’ve died, Luke should’ve died by Ren somehow, it could have ended with the Laura Dern Kamikaze run and it would have been glorious; ending on a dismal feeling and no redemption, kids leaving the cinema crying despite the cutesy animals... would have been a good setup for the last one ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

alas...

also re that kamikaze thing. if that’s such an effective weapon, why don’t they always just strap a droid into some medium-sized lighspeed-capable vehicle & shoot it towards the enemy destroyers as a go-to 100% success rate weapon all of the time? Light speed seems kinda cheap in this world. Fucking stupid.

Been talking about it and thinking about and reading about it

and I don't think I have any desire to see it again. Maybe that'll change, or maybe I'll warm to it on future viewings, but I've just got no desire to see it again, at all, ever. RIght now, at least.

What I'm trying to say is

I'm sorry. It's a bad show.

yeah so rotten tomatoes is officially bought and paid for. god what a load a shit. saw it for free and still wanted my money back.

This is a fan-inspired backlash - people don't like the fact it did something no other Star Wars movie has done, and despite the fanservice in the movie (which I thought was unwarranted), the "true" Star Wars "fans" are rallying against this movie and the director, going as far as making threats of bodily harm and encouraging suicide. FFS.

Yeah but that's just the norm at this point. There's always going to be that 0.1% of the general population now that says that to anyone who has any sort of visibility or measure of success within the entertainment industry. Then there's Span who admittedly has 10,000+ posts on a brony website despite "not wanting to be associated with the community at all" himself. So there's those dudes too.

Suicide will definitely make the film better, I say they should go for it.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

This

i was convinced lara dern was going to be a spy that was allowing them to be traced, which i imagine is what you were supposed to think. the way she acted like a dick with something made absolutely 0 sense. my story would've been better.

i was also really worried at the end with luke that they were gonna make him do the cgi yoda thing and just like fly around flipping and cutting the walkers legs off. the astral projection thing was pretty cool at first blush but actually thinking about it really fucking stupid.

oh and what he fuck was that hole thing?

I liked it, although the comic relief was excessive and used at the wrong times. Also that whole casino planet bullshit was completely worthless. We've already established that the star wars' universe is filled with wacky critters, we get it. For some reason I recalled liking Finn in TFA but here he was a non-factor where as Rey and Kylo Ren have continued to grow on me. Poe is an interesting character as well. I enjoyed the Snoke battle scene, on a purely visual level it looked great. You could see where it was going when he was trying to puppeteer both of them but ultimately I thought it worked out and the acting was good. Also, it was a pretty brutal looking death so good on disney for that. Lastly, I was impressed with Mark Hamill's performance. I always figured he was a bit of a hack but he exceeded expectations here and was overall my favorite storyline in the film. A bunch of stupid shit happened, there were potholes, etc. Go back and watch episodes 4-6 if you like, if you can put your sentimental relationship with the films aside for a moment you can pick that shit apart too.

slightly better than The Force Awakens/10

I enjoyed it, but I was pretty drunk. Really didn't expect it to be any better than the last one. I'd like to see it again.

wow really enjoyed this one,  very impressed by the battles, visuals and epic sounds. At one point i was even pretending to fly the falcon on my seat, overall this was  more star wars then star wars .

short wtf moment:
before the movie started there was a nasty commercial about a new condom company while many young children where sitting in the cinema with their parents.

The latest SW films are perfect examples of how new entries in an old franchise can be utterly crippled by their own legacies and the writing becomes a veritable checklist of arbitrary events/characters/musical cues etc in an effort to placate original fans while (clumsily) espousing modern 'social justice' mantras (which is a fundamentally good thing but with 'family friendly ultra PC' Disney steering the ship it all feels awkwardly self conscious).

I liked the film, as previously stated, but it kind of sucks that Rian Johnson will be spend the rest of his career making these calculated products instead of making original movies.

It's like taking a talented chef and hiring him to make fries at Burger King for the next 15 years.

Kinda crazy how much work it took to kill Palpatine, but Snoke died by that hand of some Emo kid with the flick of a wrist.

One of the very very very few things I liked about TFA was the scariness of Snoke's character and the mystery.  What a way to fuck that up the arse.
