I bet Disney rethinking that and at least considering taking him off the 'new' SW project after the numbers of TLJ the last week....apparently it's not making near as much money (past opening weekend) as it should've.

Just saw it at the cinema. The one thing it succeeded in doing, making The Phantom Menace now appear to be a great film. 

just saw this today. I liked many parts of it and also disliked a fair amount. I think the worst bit is that it renders Finn’s character virtually pointless? all the new characters they introduce go nowhere, even Laura Dern outside of her final moments. You could have cut an hour out of this film with no repurcussions.

 

liked most of the Rey/Luke stuff outside the one cameo which nearly broke the movie for me. the last 45 minutes were easily the best. Hux is pointless, Snoke is pointless, and everyone’s motivations are muddy and unclear.

i realized I haven't watched this piece of crap and I won't all of this industrialized entertainment business can go to hell

I'll watch it when it's up on that boat site, same as TFA. Then delete after watching.

 

It's weird with these movies and the Marvel ones. Literally the only reason I'm watching is so I have some context when I watch RLM or other web-based memery.

it's true though. the most interesting thing about these franchise movies are videos like RLM critically deconstructing the insanity.

 

in an ironic way they are a critique on modern society. modern society has become a huge franchise. and the more biting and factual the critique, the better. it becomes satire.

 

put into the right perspective, the bullshit becomes food for laughter and mockery. i make it sound bigger than it is. but it's true, imo. :/

After third watch itz still good :)

I liked it even more the second time

 

Still hate the casino planet and Benicio del Toro’s character is worthless (just make Rose the hacker, you lose an unnecessary 20 mins of the movie and make another random addition worthwhile)

 

But the island stuff is awesome and the third act is exhilarating

I went in with no expectations and i ended up liking it. There were definitely a few moments that made me cringe but it was better than i was expecting/fearing. It's not a great movie but it's fun.

but we learned that you shouldn't be fool by appearences and then trust your instinct anyway because appearances are indeed a reliable basis for judgement

Just saw it and really enjoyed it.  It's got a real interesting take on the mythos and I'm genuinely curious to see where they take it in the next one.  It really wasn't too cringey with the SJW shit even though the chubby asian chick was a member of space-PETA and Laura Dern was a literal tumblrina.
