So are you saying doctors shouldn’t make $180k a year?

that's some 8th debate Ben Shapiro "wHy nOt rAiSe tHe mIniMUm wAge to $100/hr !?" horseshit

no one is fucking saying that or even implying it

the TLDR everyone is saying is that the US system is literally the worst of both private and public healthcare, an underfunded and constricted public system and a lobbyist-driven corporate hell that is the insurance industry. the private insurance industry literally gets to divert public tax revenue into a system they control, and then push the costs back onto the public. we literally pay the highest taxes with the most pathetic and meager benefits issued. in my situation my wife has kept her job because my insurance premiums would amount to over 25% of my entire income just to legally have my family insured. that's just for the minimum. that's after my employer is already contributing a substantial part of the premium. I can't even go to specialists without shelling out $50-75 a visit.

there's no room for compromise or gradual improvement if the system is already so fucked, so bring on single-payer

I like you a lot sheathe but even I'm getting exhausted reading your posts on this subject

I really get the impression that no one is actually reading my posts.

I’m in the same boat as you. Pay ridiculous amounts of money on health insurance.

I think everyone actually agrees with me about the root causes of why the USA has terrible health care/insurance.

Mostly greed/privatization

The only difference is I don’t agree that it can be fixed so simply, and I definitely don’t believe that there are some magical set of politicians that really care and are smart enough to make impactful policy.

I just don’t believe in utopia, certainly not for America.

But my MAIN point there was, don’t you think there is a problem in believing health care should not be for profit, but also saying doctors can still make $300k a year?

The entire system is based around the idea that people will pay anything to save their or a loved one’s life. Based on the idea that human life is worth any cost.

So medication can cost $3k a month no problem. So health insurance can cost $1200 a month. So you can pay the hospital pediatrician $1700 to walk in and ask you 3 questions and check boxes off a form.

My original post about the healthcare system was about how every single aspect of it is working against us, both private and public institutions, all trying to get a piece of the pie.

And I’m worried about the next generation of doctors. I’m worried that even half altruism is dying away.

I don’t see how my views are so infuriating or offensive...

But, I would be 100% for single payer if I didn’t have to pay more than I already freaking do.

Might as well try it out.

So you’re saying doctors make more in a socialist system?

Note that the issue here is the profit of the labour goes to capital in the US system, but goes to the actual labourers in Canada.

So no issue in doctors making that much here.

Note the point I’ve been making: in America, you spend more for worse health outcomes.

Also, when Bernie brought up Medicare for all on that fox townhall, he got a loud cheer.

Dems just can't handle Bernie's popularity...smeared from all sides

He got balls for sure...Fox town hall, released tax returns...over 70

The deck seems to be stacking in his favor. That can only be a good thing.

How do you think they got the first search result? You think they paid google off? Or did tons and tons of SEO work?

Probably a bit of both.

For all google’s posturing, I think they are secretly anarchist accelerationists. The way they encourage polarizing YouTube content, etc.

I think the problem is the Dems are still fixed on this notion that a moderate Dem can bring in moderate and independent voters. In hindsight we know that's no longer the case. The GOP abandoned the same strategy after the failures of McCain and Romney.

The votes that would be picked up from the Dem base running Sanders over say, Biden or HRC, would be far greater than the chance of bringing in mods, independents, etc. Hell a moderate Democrat could easily lose a lot of votes. I think people truly horrified by Trump will vote for any Democrat. 2018 midterms saw very red states upsetting GOP incumbents, especially at local and state levels. The biggest war-chest the Dems have is the 50% of people who simply don't vote and think the whole system is fucked. They need to be brought in, not continuously ignored, otherwise they'll say "fuck it" and vote for the reality tv star again.

All those tech bro CEOs think they have the right to perform these little experiments on the public in a manifest destiny sort of way. They should all be drawn and quartered tbh

CNN's gonna have a hard on for days...

Lol @ - "This is the end of my Presidency. I'm fucked.” - May 17, 2017

Yet here we are 2 years later and don don keeps steamrolling ahead.

  Quote

The Mueller report is a sometimes gripping account of a presidency consumed by a sprawling investigation, and of a president seized by paranoia about what it might unearth.

Immediately after learning that a special counsel had been appointed to lead the Russia investigation, the report said, Mr. Trump became distraught and slumped in his chair.

“Oh, my God. This is terrible,” he said. “This is the end of my presidency. I’m fucked.”
