The He-Man documentary is the worst thing on Netflix. They really ought to purge their library of useless nostalgia porn.

The doc was actually quite good. They really did a hell of a job pinning it all on one psychotic mastermind, but there were a lot of people who didn't use their heads. Ja Rule seems utterly insufferable in person, like a lot of the phony marketers and Instagram advertisers.

Anyone seen the Hulu doc? Worth watching both?

They are both pretty good. I like the Netflix one a bit more for a few reasons:

- more interviews with the people who are involved, better editing

- more behind-the-scenes footage and raw footage of the guys responsible

- fewer segments with pop culture montages and commentary by outsiders

I would actually watch both of you find the the Netflix one good. There's a few people who interview in them both and I think both docs provide insight not available in each other documentary. In fact there are some aspects of the Hulu documentary I think they missed in the Netflix one. If you really want to know about the festival just watch both of them.

Interestingly the Hulu one interviews Billy the guy behind the disaster. They paid him to do the interview apparently. An ex-Fuck Jerry employee is in the Hulu doc. FJ is the Instagram account that fyre Festival used for all their marketing. Fuck Jerry helped produce the Netflix documentary which is why they have a lot more footage and inside documentation. While they downplay their complacency they really do reveal how much of the fyre festival staff was screwed over by Billy. The guy is a bona fide con artist and liar.

I forget the man's name but there's a individual who ultimately revealed how much of a disaster the fyre festival was before it took place. He is in both. Dude is a badass because he also ultimately revealed how much illegal financial activity was going on beyond the festival itself.

FuckJerry is some insidious shit. I'd seen it floating around for years and always thought it was just a silly meme account but it's grown to be some kind of cancerous ad/marketing agency.

Yeah this guy was the best part of both docs.

Overall I liked the Hulu one a bit more, the ex-Jerry employee dishing on how much they really knew casts their diminished role in the Netflix one in a weird light.

Netflix did have the catering lady though, and the Frank scam Billy started while he was out on bail (lol).

They’re both worth watching - and differ enough in style and content to avoid too much repetition.

That's the only bit of the doc I didn't really understand. No offense to any old gay men here but who really wants to get sucked off by an old gay man? Not even old gay men want that.
