I think he is quite right tho.. Well I don't think it's unnecessary drums but little bit too much drums on a smooth track!
In my case I mostly crave for crazy Aphex-drums, I love that shit! I want to hear like Vordhosbn, T69 Collapse, Tuss etc

But In my opinion sometimes Tracks like Bwoon Dub, Love7 and listen to Pretend Analog Extmix is like just drums and percs from 1 or 2 drum machines
and it just feels so right on time and place and not too much or too little for the track. Just right amount! Don't need to go wilder here.

BlackBox Life Recorder is more like these last tracks more chill and hunting. I would prefer more chill drums going on.. Maybe in the use 1 or 2 drum machines..
The DMX Oberheim which he uses percs from here would be just perfect if he used it only.

I suppose it's all taste isn't it, I still find these sorts of criticisms strange though, "too much drums", like the ratio of different elements is more important than the form they create together. Like if you read a book and complained that the frequencies of the occurrence of different words weren't to your taste or something.

Also there is the ambient version and you're asking for 1 or 2 drum machines, I see a solution for you...

Yeah yeah I know that "Music is subjective" talk and so on.. But Sometimes people can have different opinions on the music itself, did you know that?
someone maybe feels less is more or something else. Some people like it raw and aggressive, some people like it more chill.

Im not focusing in what kind of drum machines etc.. But I can clearly hear when he uses alot of different drum sound from many different machines.
Maybe my opinion it is little bit too much on a chill track. Can you understand this opinion of mine or is it hard to grasp?

How many drum types do he uses in Bwoon Dub for example? My point was just sometimes I think a chill track don't need to be overwhelmed with Aphex-drums.
Crusing for burgers thinks they don't complement each other but I think they do. I respect his opinion tho and that's that!

Any hope of these 2 new barcelona tracks being added to his site at midnight? Fuck all I'd say, I hope I'm wrong

Listened back through the Barcelona set trying to guess which tracks they might be, hoping it's the chiptune and jungle ones that he played in a row

He played that alternate mix of blackbox at 28mins of the barca set (youtube video timing) again. I assume that's on the new EP next month

Discogs next week

anyway, they only distributed around 100 of these codes but that doesn't mean that Warp is only gonna press 100 right? it would be very funny if the people who are paying 300$ right now just to find out 1 month later that there's a repress and it's sold for about 30$ or such... hope!

Soundlab / Manchester 12" was added to the store quite soon after the event. Maybe one week after, two weeks at tops. Since there was an actual announced date for this and they shipped the vinyl earlier, makes me hopeful that this might end up to bleepstore today.

admittedly, my memory is pretty hazy, but i'm pretty sure the london and manc digitals landed on the aphex store months after people got the vinyl. for a while we were listening to a rip of soundlab, and of course most of the other tunes across those two releases had already existed as bonus store tunes.

yeah, this is how I member it as well. took a while before these landed in the store. although that latest took the shortest. the houston one was the first gig-ep, i believe. that took a while. according to discogs a couple of years (https://www.discogs.com/master/1523549-AFX-Houston-TX-121716).

but all the others ones were put up in the store in 2019 as well:

https://www.discogs.com/master/1658714-Aphex-Twin-London-14092019

So the final two were pretty quick...

Yup seems you guys are right. I remember that Houston took a good time to get to the shop but could have sworn that the waiting game for Manchester/London took only a couple of weeks.

best quality for the rosendal track so far. This doesn’t seem like the passive ah… not sure how to articulate this. I think this one is destined for an official release at some point soon rather than the new track snippets we hear occasionally….
