I was thinking. Maybe they could come up with special tires and roads that create extra friction as to create kinetic energy to charge an EV.  I think. they use braking systems to add kinetic energy to the battery.

the best outcome for all this is public transportation and density. it would hella cheaper than rebuilding every road to suit new types of cars/tires etc. robust light rail etc that comes so frequently that you don't have to think about a schedule unless you're going on a longer trip.

That's what I meant

Yep. Was backing you up.

Most EVs in "one pedal mode" use regen only unless you use the brake pedal (which you shouldn't have to in that mode). The ones with better one-pedal implementations (surprisingly, Chevy) use blended braking (regen and friction) whenever you press the brake even in normal driving mode. Others use less or no regen when you press the brake or have one-pedal as the only option (BMW).

I use one-pedal exclusively on my Chevy and expect the original rotors/brakes to pretty much last the life of the car. Can't imagine never changing brakes on my car. One of the many many things I love about this car.

Wouldn't this be circular? Using extra friction to charge a battery that stores the energy that will be used to overcome the extra friction. I guess it could work if it's a hybrid car, and extra friction is used when the the car is running on gas. Or if extra friction is only used while braking

Somehow have the road create friction with the tier. Like they put drag on each other.  You could have reserve energy just to get started. And the braking system

But thats not going to happen. The roads being redone.

A nice train system would be lovely. But thats not going to happen either

everything is dumb.. "if only there was a solution to all this traffic???"

elon: we'll make tunnels under the traffic!  then we'll make pods!

everyone: how about some good trains?

elon: that's socialism!

everyone: go to mars already you fuckn weeb

Oh for a second I thought Tweetbot was back. Haven’t really used Twitter regularly since they destroyed third party apps.

not sure how a video of this guy (allegedly) telling everyone to go home qualifies to free him considering they did not go home until after they broke in

i love how elon musk has now become the source for so much anxiety of the right

The top federal prosecutor in Manhattan, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, said in a release that Guo was charged with "lining his pockets with the money he stole, including buying himself, and his close relatives, a 50,000 square foot mansion, a $3.5 million Ferrari, and even two $36,000 mattresses, and financing a $37 million luxury yacht."

It was on Guo's 150-foot (45-meter) yacht that Bannon was once arrested on federal charges. Just before he left office, Trump made the case against Bannon dissolve with a pardon.

NPR quits Twitter after being falsely labeled as 'state-affiliated media'

  Quote

NPR will no longer post fresh content to its 52 official Twitter feeds, becoming the first major news organization to go silent on the social media platform. In explaining its decision, NPR cited Twitter's decision to first label the network "state-affiliated media," the same term it uses for propaganda outlets in Russia, China and other autocratic countries.

The decision by Twitter last week took the public radio network off guard. When queried by NPR tech reporter Bobby Allyn, Twitter owner Elon Musk asked how NPR functioned. Musk allowed that he might have gotten it wrong.

Twitter then revised its label on NPR's account to "government-funded media." The news organization says that is inaccurate and misleading, given that NPR is a private, nonprofit company with editorial independence. It receives less than 1 percent of its $300 million annual budget from the federally funded Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

[...]

In a BBC interview posted online Wednesday, Musk suggested he may further change the label to "publicly funded." His words did not sway NPR's decision makers. Even if Twitter were to drop the designation altogether, Lansing says the network will not immediately return to the platform.

"At this point I have lost my faith in the decision-making at Twitter," he says. "I would need some time to understand whether Twitter can be trusted again."

it's so insane. NPR/PBS get a little funding from the government but the majority.. like 80 or 90 percent or something.. is from member donations and different groups/funds/charitable trusts etc.
