Pretty sure they are natural aristocrats those birds based on how they greet humans. They are all about humility and respect:

I like how the shoebill looks at the other people expectantly “…..”

Reminds me of my nocturnal run-in with an opossum: casually walked up on my deck while I was out there and I suddenly turned into an old southern gentleman yelling at a hobo while coughing blood into a hanky “go on!!! Get yourself outta here!!!” - later I learned opposums are friends, but that one looked right at me and hissed before walking off. Keep on, misunderstood friend!
