enjoying art from an artist who is less than savory

You seem to be well informed about that page.

Well, Autism is listed in DSM and ICD, so using it as an insult is a bit insensitive and as Ragnar figured a pretty Trump-esque thing to do

euuuururghhhhh beginning to feel like zaphod when he made the JP thread

I think hello spiral has no idea what autism means and that the word shouldn't be abused to insult people because it's a slap in the face for everyone who really suffers from that disease.

yet you're the one calling autism a disease you prick

It is listed as a mental disease

edit: Before you say it's a disorder and not a disease, read this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mental_disorder

The DSM V has "Internet Gaming Disorder" as a mental disease... Just sayin'

#10 Christmas 2008 the worst in at least a decade: Christmas is my second favorite holiday of the year, a close second; Independence Day is in first place. However, this year was one of the worst in a long time. We had company over, something extremely rare, and both parents wouldn't let me go out of my room due to a reason that's confidential. I had a solution, a blanket (which worked before), but my parents wouldn't allow it due to a supposed "rule". This ruined this year's Christmas. As a consequence, I'm now taking counter measures for what they did - not doing things they want when they tell me to. In addition, I'm not going to get them any where near as much in the way of gifts next year, and canceling any birthday gifts. I had one for my dad, but now I'm not going to get him it because he played a role with this. At least one was friendly and had sympathy, my sister. She won't be affected by the counter measures. As a consequence, I was not able to participate in the gift-opening (I was still lucky enough to get a photo), or even the family games. Instead of doing this, with nothing else for me to do otherwise, I worked on my web site update.

It’s a result of the current climax of woke-bait virtue signaling culture. Also since 2016, everyone has become vain and dumb. People over share across all platforms etc.

Also, there ain’t that much good art anyway!

If I was a brilliant artist, I would have the most epic rock bottom phase ever, then dare people to erase my incredible contributions to humanity just because I did a few no-no’s

Good Smiths stuff is really good. Never heard a good Morrissey solo though.

edit: anyway, is the thread just going to be people mentioning unsavory artists now? Pretty boring/useless if so.

John Fucking Lennon

Broke up THE BEATLES over a woman, now that's unsavory!!!!

has anyone here actually turned off a song or film because it was just so goddamn wrong? I guess this is an inverted question: less than savory art from "ok" people

for example I could never fucking watch Hostel, sleazy lazy torture porn and the fact that it had mainstream success bothers me

I almost turned this off it was so fucked but I do like UGK otherwise, more of a "jeeeeeesus christ guys whaddafuck"

Oh my god I'd long ago forgot about that song, can't even remember who played it for me way back when. Fucked up shit, I assume (hope) it's done jokingly but still, fucked up shit to actually record it even lol

it's essentially the room: the musical, so yes. maybe it's ok to ironically enjoy something that sucks and not have to feel like you're separating the art from the artist when you're watching it to make fun of how bad the artist is.

r kelly has a fkn great voice though i will give him that. also he seems to have magically grown his hair back after being bald in the 90s. i wonder how that happened :whistling:

I thought the South Park take on it was really fucking funny, been a while since I watched it though so I can't remember if it provides any additional jabbing at unsavory artists (beyond making fun of Tom Cruise). And of course Kelly's got a great voice, lol at magical hair :)

All the makings of a sitcom right there. Bazinga

all autistic people are white blond blue-eyed boys and never grow up, they also have a 90s tv style instagram filter following them wherever they go

edit: is that autism speaks' official stance too

darreichs walks into living room, Spiral tied up and covered in wigs soaking wet with hair dye and a rare deep sea sponge in his mouth gagging him, a computer playing noises loudly, he screams through the sponge but it's just mumbles

darreichs: Ragnar, you silly goose, you done it again!

honestly I should change over to DJ Saint-Hubert, Ragnar was like a holdover because worried I'd lose touch with people other places on the internet. It was like my original internet moniker from the very beginning of internet using

like nothing deep about the 'Ragnar' name, equivalent to naming oneself Technoviking
