Yeah you can just walk up and stand on the platform. My Japanese in-laws saw me off when we left and they didn’t have to pay. You just have to pay the normal train station rate.

Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things.  A rational person would have stopped watching 15 minutes in but I just kept going for a full hour.  I think I only had 15 minutes left or so.
